  • David Korten addresses the need for a shift towards sustainable agriculture within a local, community-based economic system, critiquing the current industrialized, energy-dependent agricultural model for its unsustainability and inefficiency. He advocates for smaller production units and urban agriculture that align with natural cycles, highlighting examples of intensive production on small plots as a path towards ecological and economic viability.
In this 2011 interview, David Korten, author of "When Corporations Rule The World", shares his optimistic vision for a food system that's environmentally, ethically and economically compatible with nature.

Check out the work of Geoff Lawton. His complex systems truly are a brilliant way of layering forms of production on the same land; improving the living ecosystem, feeding the soil, and producing huge amounts of food; simply.
Building these systems as a community, sharing the tasks and production, while sharing access to land and water; is the best way to promote community while returning to natural systems and optimising returns.
