Thanks so much for watching! Id like to know which trails you think are the hardest. Sans straight buggy trails. Like Independance at penrose, blanka peak (just for the youll die factor), or holly cross? Built jeep hard is different than ultra 4 hard.
Not in order. Chinaman gulch, Carnage canyon, iron chest, Penrose trail system, Billings canyon, tie rod bender trail, holy cross, Blanca peak(lake como), die trying and can't forget about I25 in rush hour🤣
@@kgries ok ill give you holy cross and carnage canyon as a maybe, chinaman is mehhh thats close. Blanca is just scrary, penrose doesnt count cause its a ultra4 trail, and i70 back from breck in february is much scarier than i25. 😅😂
Awesome video guys! Looks like an adventure. I’ve run Wheeler many times and it’s gotten harder over the years. Wheeler is underrated - it’s similar in difficulty to Holy Cross.
looks epic! note to self! No doing Wheeler lake solo! On the drive home any computer issues with the steering being so far off! Have seen videos where it cause the computer to think the vehicle is in a slide and tries to compensate ..... Will be doing Redcone fot the first time in 12 days! Can't wait to get wheeling again in the Mtns vs the mud/trees/flat here in flatlander-ville :)
I was worried about this exact thing and right after it hsppened it was like a xmas tree on the dash, but we were able to use the fusion 4x4 drag link adjustment to get it straight enough to drive home. But all of the lignts were still on. My camber is 2 degrees off on that side now. I hope we get to wheel with you when you make it out to the mtns. 😀
Just ran wheeler a couple of weeks ago and no way is this the toughest trail in Colorado. We ran it with no problems in two early broncos (one on 35” wheels and one on 32” - both were locked front and back), also had a stock 6g bronco with a Sasquatch package. I do not think the 32” bronco or the 6g bronco would Have made it up holy Cross (which I ran two summers ago). Air down, pick your lines carefully, go slow and you will Be fine. Incredible scenery.
I think you bring up a great point, with the right line a trail can be conquired easier than it may seem, but i think wheeler has the potential to go bad easily. I classify this trail as one of the hardest 4x4 trails that doesnt grey into the buggy trail category. Holly cross is harder and maybe chinaman but the rest start to fade into the buggy category. Thanks so much for watching! 🙏🏻
Becareful of the newer wheelers that post stuff like this. So much to learn in this hobby. This is the problem with social media now. Anyine can post up any content and get new jeep owners to follow them.
Not even close to the toughest trail. Trail is actually kind of easy. With the rigs you have in this video it should have been a Sunday stroll. A little driver experience goes a long way.
Haha thanks for the comment! There actually arent many harder trails in colorado. Independance, which is a buggy trail, chinaman, which is a maybe, carnage, which is another buggy trail, holly cross which is about as bad. There is also blanca, but thats just scary because you could die. While we are here, i gotta know what you drive. 😀
@barelymadeit you obviously have not wheeled much in Colorado. There are a ton of trails that are harder. We would drive wheeler in an XJ on 31's open / open but you also thought top of the world was hard.
@barelymadeit Just look up trails in Montrose, Grand Junction, Gypsum, Holy Cross, Blanca, Iron Chest, Chinaman's, Kelly Flats if you do the chutes, Quarry, Spring Creek, Cactus, Die Trying, BV Carnage, Indy, Billings Canyon, Middle Middle, Upper Middle, 10 Falls, Mine Sweeper, Tie Rod Bender, Calamity, 21 Road, Cactus, etc.... I can keep going if you would like me too. Remember you where wigging out on top of the world.
Please see the other comments. There are buggy trails and jeep trails. Maybe penrose independce trail, which is a buggy trail. Blanca peak wich is just terrifying, cinnamon Maybe, iron chest is just bumpy. Holly cross, maybe? Id love to hear your 20 list thats harder. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@barelymadeit I'm not gonna list 20 trails lol. Obviously way out of your current skill range and build level. To name a few billings, carnage, 21 rd, cutoff, calamity, die trying, scratch n dent, cactus 1, die trying, independence, patriot, etc... Newbs may consider those "buggy trails" but I've done all of the above in my JL.
@@jpk0612 wow thats amazing! Ive watched buggies have to be winched up that wall at independance. Thanks for the comments. Well make sure to do these next.
I miss living in Summit. Spent 8 years there, and seeing the trails we used to run back 20 years ago today is awesome. Haven’t changed much.
Not even in the top 10 hardest. But the views, obstacles and lake are all amazing

@@barelymadeit you are right on iron chest. It's only 1/4 of kidney jarring rocks, lol
Epic film of your epic little adventure!
Thanks so much! We are glad you could join us for the ride!
Great views and difficult wheeling. Hard on equipment too.
BIGGER!
🙏🏻🙏🏻 its really no joke!
Very cool video and great music love it..

Its got so much to see its pretty dam epic! Def underrated! And ive seen videos in the past and it has definitly gotten harder this season.
So OnX ratings for these trails are way off? Wheeler is a 7/10 and Holy Cross is a 9/10
Great lines, and videos. Can't wait to hit Wheeler. Pickle was a blast! Thanks for all the videos.
Thanks so much for joining us! Pickle is def one of our new favorites. Im excited to give it a shot in snow this winter. 😀
Awesome video! Definitely want to do this trail again someday
Thanks so much! Hopefully we see you out there.

I just did Red Cone. Go very slow through the jagged rocks. Our spring rain washed out the dirt. I blew a wheel and tire on that trail 1 week ago.
Great video 👍🏼

Fun trail Yes. Hard Yes. Hardest off road trail in Colorado? Not even close. 🤣
There isnt much harder thats an actual non buggy trail.
Go further west. Grand Junction has some “hard” trails 😁
I've done Wheeler Lake and it definitely IS a difficult trail.
It really isn't easy. Rock buggy trails are in a different class IMO.
Lol my friend Melissa is in the burgundy jeep so random
We love wheeling with Melissa! 😀
I’ve done wheeler lake and it’s definitely not a hard trail.
Yall are out here, “carnage canyon isnt a hard trail”
"Hard for a Gladiator"
As apposed to the trd tacoma, fj cruiser and wrangler that didnt make it up?

STOCK HEEPS means NOT A HARD TRAIL
Thanks for watching. We watched an FJ with long travel almost roll... and there was only one stockish jeep in the group that made it the whole way.
Wheeler is not even close to the toughest trail. I just did it last week for the 12th time. My vote for a tough trail is Grizzly Lake.
