Here's a first look at my DIY Car Visor that I sewed out of fabric and vinyl. The full tutorial and sewing pattern can be found here: sewcanshe.com/...
As soon as you get that pattern published, I'll be making two of these. One for over the driver's visor, for him to replace the floppy one for all the vehicle documents, the other will be over the passenger visor, so that I can put one of my EPP sewing kits in there... a perfect place to keep one handy as that's what I do when I'm the passenger... can't sit quietly, have to have something to do while he's driving, or when we stop somewhere and he runs in to shop at his fav store, and I don't want to go in with him. I also do cross-stitch, so the same tools would be in that organizer, rather than on the console between us, falling in between the seats! Can't wait to make this cute project!
This is definitely one to be proud of! I have been trying to think of useful yet creative items to make for Christmas gifts on my extremely limited budget. This will work because I already have vinyl! Thank you!
love all the quilting patterns and baskets I've made the basket and the car trash cans i love the idea of the back pack for the beach gonna make some of those I've got girls that live in Florida so they will be perfect for them there thanks for all your patterns and videos
Wow! This organizer looks great! If you made a video class for it I would buy it. I think everyone needs one of these! Video or not, I am looking forward to your instructions and plan to give it a go. Fyi, last year for our quilt guild dirty Santa exchange, I made your A-frame organizer and it was a big hit. It got traded several times and several people wanted to know where I got the pattern. I think you got some new subscribers from it!
this challenge has turned very good! IF one wanted the card slots like on prototype, a narrow strap from zip seam to bottom would hold them in. like the velcro pocket for extra change. will the plastic hold up for the pen holder; I've never sewen plastic. looking forward to your tutorial...really excited about it! TY, Ms Caroline!
I'm so glad you like it! The plastic on the pen holder seems sturdy to me. After a while, if people are rough with it, it might start to tear off. In that case, I'd tear it completely off and it would be as if it were never there. :)
If you don't want to use plastic, add another inch or two of the elastic to the supply list, and make a couple of elastic loops where the plastic is. Just an idea.
So I’m having trouble with how to sew the lining on. Do you have any tips? The rest was easy but i for some reason can’t picture how to see the liner on After already having attached the zipper. Do you have more clear pictures of those steps? Or a tutorial for that part available? Thanks for any tips. I want to finish it up. Thanks
I love this idea! However I live in MN and we have temp extremes. Vinyl is not the best to use here. In the winter it will crack and in the Summer it will get super soft. Is there another option that will work?
@@lisacotton1502 That would have the same problem as the vinyl, as it is also made of the same material as the vinyl... polymers. It would disintegrate, and crack after one season of extreme cold that MN and ND experience every winter (I live in ND, so I know what Pat is referring to).

It's beautiful. I'm from South Africa they will break into your car to steal it
Put some religious pamphlets in it: Repentance and thou shall not steal.
Nice. I'll skip the card pockets; they should NEVER be left in the car, unless the insurance card.
I agree.
I’m going to put my punch cards in it.

Maybe you could change the vinyl to mesh fabric. I think that would work too.
@@sandracrosbie8468 Excellent idea. Just need something with a bit of texture for the cards to grip up against.
@@rhondaalbrecht what about draw or shelf lining “mesh” which is rubberised?

@@rhondaalbrecht I’m in the UK and can’t begin to imagine that kind of cold! I’ve never known anything less than -8 Celsius, thankfully!
I have a problem with sewing Velcro with my sewing machine. It does skip stitches
Is there a video tutorial?
