TOMASHI JACKSON Solo Exhibition at TILTON GALLERY

Hi Everyone,
Today I would like introduce Tomashi Jackson's solo exhibition, 'The Great Society', at the Tilton gallery in Upper East Side. In this exhibition, Jackson continues to explore the key moments of history that are relevant to the present. For this exhibition, images she used in her works are from public domain focusing on the events where the possibility and promise of a great society was presented to the public. Some of these images are embedded in her large and colorful canvases. It is quite dynamic to see diverse layers between her transparent vinyl strips on the canvas. Each painting is supported by three-dimensional wood structures that functions as stretches, creating a triangular shape.
Tomashi Jackson also has been included in the group show, 'The New Bend' curated by Legacy Russell at Hauser & Wirth gallery.
