I love pat too and love his Islam videos. He should do his homework on the inquisition though they recently opened the files in Spain and scholars are beginning to write critically about it with all the information and about 90% of what people believe about it is just plain false.
Scholars are not BEGINNING to write critically about the Inquisition, they have been doing so for a long time, but as usual the relgular media and others like Pat Condell are too lazy or prejudiced to read the real history of the Inquisition as it might upset their bigotry.

The actual picture that is emerging is far different than that created by the English and German and Dutch protestant who created the many myths surrounding the Inquisition. It was far more enlightened than what was going on in any of those countries at the time.

Yes I suspect he is institutionalized but rather then thinking him or them brainwashed, I think that their of weak character and dependent on their faith for meaning, frightened and feigning their gullibility to avoid their fears and being just well totally dishonest, because of those prior given reasons.
These people are not stupid enough to not be able to reason and use logic, in most the rest of the areas of their lives, but they suspend all that in pursuit of this self deception.
Honestly I don't think they even consider their position as narcissistic and self serving, just as they think its kind to offer salvation to us in other cultures, as if we are detached from our lovers friends family and kindred, and consider not their claim of hell as offensive to us right to our core and what makes up our being.
I'm trying to say there is a dichotomy of total corruption and detachment at work, that is I think the why organized religion must perish, even in its daily benign manifestations, even if it pleases the detaching narcissism of certain people.
These criminal divisive ideas that are the very bedrock of the faiths in question, the sadistic nature and cruelties, are manifestations of a fact, they will murder lie steal and rape, if it be required to keep their illusions alive in their heads.... So how much less can you expect these to practice the study of their selves or be aware, they cannot not even be honest with themselves as their world would crumble like a pie crust hitting a rock, upon basic self observations, that come naturally to most non believers, we are use to taking responsibility using empathy in our relating to others around us, and most important realizing the gravity of our fuck ups what they vapidly call sin, that there is no magic spell no incantation to undo what we do.
They will never understand us, nor that our confronting them and seeming mockery of their cherished faith, is done with a good intent and even you can say love, a desire to undo their shackles, even with them kicking and screaming all the way.
The guy in the opening posting in this string, look how he is praising Pat for his Islam posts but decrying the ones against Christianity, as if he can't grasp the reality of what Christians have done to so many, even more millions then Islams had the power to touch, and recognize to outside observations, their both in the same boat of corrupt evil inhuman and insulting unjust ideas.
I have to agree with Elliotcheely. People come to YT for different reasons, sometimes it's to socialize, sometimes it's to share or broadcast. We shouldn't set ridged expectations for people to follow.

I have indeed, and I already stated that religion does more harm than good. All I'm saying is that while religion can and does cause problems, the atheistic view of once you die, that's it, causes its fair share as well. I don't think anyone in their right mind can deny the atrocities done "in the name of god", but at the same time, many non religious can be just as disgusting, as they have no punishment for it after death.

It doesn't actually say "separation of church and state" in the constituetion. It rather says "There shall be no law made respecting or elevating an establishment of religion". Making the damn tax cuts you religious people get technically unconstitutional.

That's good. But it is also necessary to remember that not killing anybody is not an inherently christian principle: it is incorporated into christian values because it is a good principle, a humanistic principle.

Pat Condell's name was misspelled "Pat Candell" on the screen at the end of his presentation...He must have fired his editor after the show..I have heard that in Britain, you are risking your safety if you critique or find fault with the muslim faith, this from someone who lives there. What Pat does has serious risks attached..

They do. But atheism is not an ideology. Nazism and communism may be atheistic in the sense that they're not based on gods or religion, but they're not based on atheism: they're based on positive beliefs in one or another principle.

I would phrase that differently: people have tried to force other people to forsake their belief in gods - or to give up their religions. I can't imagine how somebody could use a lack of belief to oppress somebody.
sir harold kroto won the 1996 nobel prize in chemistry (with two other people) after setting up the vega science trust a year prior. pat condell insults for the sake of insulting as well as giving atheists everywhere a bad press. i don't understand why he moans on about religious people being mentally ill when all of his beliefs are based on the fraudulent mass media. he should leave his house occasionally and meet some religious people to see what they're actually like!

Criticism of Religion in general will get you labelled as a "Heathen" a "Zionist" a "Liar", just about anything really by whichever religion you seem to be criticizing at that time. All that proves is the accuracy of what Mr Condell often espouses which is the intolerance of ALL religions with the *possible exception of the Jains, although Magical thinking can never really be of any use to a society.

I am a disciple of Christ but share most of the thoughts regarding organised religeon. The very sad part is that the church really feels it is doing a good job, but in reality they insult God and Jesus and pave the way for the antichrist to be welcomed. They will have to answer why they killed in God's name, they will have to answer about spreading lies and false doctrines.

Hey thanks for the input FJB. I know from where I'm from, most of the Muslims are from Lebanon or fairly urbanized parts of the Middle-East. If I'm not mistaken, in the UK, most of the really fundamentalist Muslims tend to be from rural parts of the Middle-East particularly from Pakistan, etc. (This is just what I heard, could be wrong).

You know, there are several UA-cam atheists here who I think are just irreplaceable. Dawkins, Dennett and friends seem to occupy only an academic/literary niche, but the UA-camrs gives really give being an atheist a very human face... scars and all. And they even create media, that I think, can trump anything established media could put out.
I don't think he was trying to be 100% serious here. (I mean he's sharing with us his favorite YT clips.) Anyways, I remember you didn't get my last video either. These are just comedy videos. You don't have to take them too seriously. :)
Plus, think of the ends rather than the means. People don't become police officers just to support other cops, they become police officers to enforce the law. (And Pat is quite a good one man crime-fighter).
You know, I never considered that, though it totally makes sense. Some of the scenes and issues involving Islam in the UK, I just couldn't imagine happening anywhere in Canada or the US.

And I reckon that if that god had a message for those that loved him, he'd leave it woven into the fabric of the world he created, knowing full well that those that loved him couldn't resist studying his creation and would stumble upon it.

They have the bible as an accurate record of what happened so they can check a model early to see if the god in their model is behaving appropriately. If a model could be discovered it might offer enormous insight into our future.
