In a situation like this when one player is pinned to the side of the board, does it make sense to shift the entire battle to the middle, resetting the ocean battleground? it seems to me that these 1/700 need more room to breathe from the Batreps I've seen. in the real world, this fleet would have ocean behind it to flee/manuever.
@bonddizzle That's a great idea. Will actually implement this. With our house rules, the edgde is not so bad, and you can't really be pinned by it. But it's better as you suggest also more esthetically pleasing. Thank you!
Is it possible to get a full list of your houserules? Having removed the British 10% improved chance of hitting, what if any rules did you come up with to distinguish the french/spanish/british factions? Lovely battle report. I hope we see more of this in not too long
@imaginaryatlas The hulls are usually Turner Miniatures for me. But warlord games make generic frames of brigs, 5th rates, and 3rd rates. Mostly, I use the masts from these frames. Sometimes, I make my own masts or use use kits from artist hobby. The ratlines and some other photoetch are from Atlantic Models. I hope this helps. A good start is the warlord games black seas ship's. Their backplates are gorgeous as well.
@NLrazz we use house rules. Can come back to you eith them if you would like. But basically, the ships of each side are counted as one, and their points added together.
@NLrazz don't have the rules here. For the order of play, its weather gage, as usual. For damage, we allocate randomly (luck fog of war and all that) 2 ships D6 1-3 or 4-6. 3 ships D3 1,2,3, any bonuses while fighting is applied to the whole engagement. It's not perfect. But maybe try it out and see if it works for you.
A great looking naval battle...with gorgeous ships!
looks epic

Nice ships no detail of what’s happening!
@taffp4360 Thanks for the feedback. Do you mean it has to little description during the battle? Will see if I can get more details for the next one.
Do you know how damage is allocated in a multie grapple.
We cant figure it out
