ENGLISH :
Madreterra (Motherland) is the official anthem of Sicily since May 15, 2003. It was written by Vincenzo Spampinato and was chosen after an official competition. However, other songs (notably, Suoni la tromba 'Blare the trumpet') have been traditionally regarded as national anthems of Sicily. The lyrics are in Italian.

I am a proud 4th generation Sicilian - American. My family immigrated from the suburbs of Palermo in 1902, and made a life in NYC. I have never been to my mother land, but I am proud of my culture, family, and history. Ti aimo Sicilia
I am a proud second generation Sicilian American. My grandmother came from Trapani Sicily with her parents. I still have cousins over there I would love to go there!

I am a proud 1st generation Sicilian. My parents came to America in 1948. It makes me so proud to know who I am and where I came from. This is just beautiful.
