1:28 this right here prooves that the darkness is controlling the hosts body or atleast another state of the host is taking control, this is the only glimpse we've ever gotten of seeing one of the corrupted characters we see daily in pibby mod's, actually fight back from the corruption, its as if they are both fighting for control over the body in a way, of course, finn not being near as powerful as any normal superhero is bound to not succeed, and is quickly taken back into control as seen here 1:49 and judging by the intensity of the hosts body being taken back by the corruption as heard in the vocal cords, i'd say beyond this point the character is most likely never to be seen again as his true self.
I don't think physical power helps with the Pibby corruption, but will power does instead. Finn has the true heart of a hero, the fact he used his very short moment of breaking free to call for help shows just how bad it really is. Despite knowing how many are suffering like him, despite breaking free, instead of pushing his freedom more, instead all he could do, was scream for anyone to help. Because he knows he can't save himself, and he couldn't think of anyone in particular who could save him in that moment.
