You cannot shut your borders without prior notice to your neighbouring countries, lock up goods worth goods worth close to billions of dollars purchased from Nigeria since September last year. And some of these goods perishable with the excuse that you are preventing smuggling. Couldn't Nigerian authorities differentiate between genuine and smuggled goods by paper trail? The agitation by the GUTA in Ghana is as a result of the huge monies they've lost from their goods locked up with the Nigerian borders. And when they see a Nigerian trading outside the laws of Ghana, of course they gonna react. It's for Nigerian citizens both in Ghana and Nigeria to press on their government to use the common sense approach when wanting to take measures as stupid decisions like the blanket locking of goods at the Nigerian borders would certainly gonna have a bomarang effect. Having said that, the two governments have to stop issuing statements and press conferences and resort to diplomatic back channels. Both media channels in Ghana and Nigeria should boldly tell it's citizens when they are in the wrong and don't just support blindly bcos of flag tags. Painful as my last comment may be, Nigeria should be bold and tell its citizens that swindling your neighbour isn't the new definition of being smart. i think u answered yourself.Retailing in nigeria as a Ghanian is ilegal, which is why the ghanaians you know are all doing "Minial Jobs" aka the legal alternative. Why cant the Nigerians follow suit? You Ghanaian don’t realise that there are so many of your citizens are doing menial jobs in Nigeria. When I say menial jobs I mean Gate man, house boy and girls, drivers. I can name a few because I for a fact employed a citizen of yours. He complains of how hard things are in Ghana. To be precise my driver is from a region in the Volta if there is any place like that in you country. So be careful on how you run your mouth as you are putting a lot of these good peoples livelihood from Ghana at risk. Most people from Ghana have over stayed the 90 days period in Nigeria.

I noticed some sense here for the first time,am sure one of your parents must be a Nigerian.A typical Ghanaian can never offer such advice for any reason because of competition mentality.But you need to understand the fact that Nigeria has numerous functional power plants and dams,we do have electricity,the truth is the demand is higher than the supply.I don't need to remind you we are currently about 243 millions people,that is almost about 10-12 nations of west Africa neighbours put together,.In the spirit of brotherhood,despite all the insult and conspiracies,till now we still share our energy/electricity with some west Africa neighbours.We do have problems at the moment just as you pointed out,but the hunger and starvation Ghanaians are praying for can hardly happen in Nigeria.Just like every other nations,we have a unique gift that can keep us going in any situation,that is why the famous "Africa never die" grass originated from Nigeria.

i think u answered yourself.Retailing in nigeria as a Ghanian is ilegal, which is why the ghanaians you know are all doing "Minial Jobs" aka the legal alternative. Why cant the Nigerians follow suit? There are serveral other jobs that they can do in ghana as an alternetive to retail, if they cant afford to do the wholesale bussiness. All these waste of resources (sending law enforcement -tax payers money etc)can be avoided. Lets just respect one another and live peacefully.
Maame Nyarkoa the question I keep asking is if the Ghana establishment are trying to enforce this so called law which last time I checked Nigeria has a similar law how come the authorities still approved trading permits for our Nigeria traders. My suspicion is that it might have something to do with your election coming hence the government is try to use it to show that they are doing something and wine support. But believe me after the election this issue will fizzle out.
