One of the biggest pleasures of being a earthbound/mother fan is seeing people who have never played this game reacting to the wackyness of this game. Not only are you reacting to the music but the game itself, but your focus on music makes it so much interesting! Sub for the next part!
I got Earthbound back when it came out and it was so totally unique it was in all aspects. The music was extremely varied but it also had a lot of fusion, due to the limitations of the hardware, making a lot of traditional songs sound unique since they are playing through synths or primitive samplers. On top of that, this is one of the few games to incorporate straight-up Merzbow-esque noise music. The game itself was unique too, as it meant to turn JRPG traditions on their head and specifically subvert expectations. It was my favorite game for a very long time and it still is one of the best that I have played in context for the time that it was released. It's too bad that it was released late in the SNES' life and was mostly overlooked for shitty 3D games. Truly one of the best SNES RPGs.

So one of the best songs in the game imo is the tune for the sound stone when you find all the sanctuary locations.. which means you'd either have to get through the game to hear the full song or just look it up.. 😉 I know what I hope for!!
I love the mistakes you make, like auto fighting accidentally and dying, you got to hear the game over theme, the house theme in daytime, and got a photo!

Enjoying these reactions, keep em coming! Just like the game itself, this soundtrack is wonderfully unique and full of surprises. Course, stuff like the house themes and battle music will start to be reused so you won't have the same density of "hey, that's neat!" from here on out, but there's still plenty of new songs coming up. Btw, you can talk to people and inspect stuff without needing to open the menu, just use the shoulder buttons (or maybe just L-trigger, I forget). Saves you a lot of effort over time, and frustration if someone moves away just as you're trying to speak to them. 😆 The Magic Butterfly restores some PP. Oh, and try searching through trash cans, there can some disgusting leftovers in there which Ness will happily gobble down. 😉 And most of all: don't give up! The game is pretty rough at the start because you're so squishy and only have one guy, also resulting in _very_ limited inventory space. Things get a lot more manageable once Paula joins. Thankfully, you don't lose any XP or even story progress when you die, just half your wallet (so never take out _too_ much at once from your bank account).
The Hospital theme reminds me of going to a hospital at a mall and there's a weed shop in there somewhere and you go to sell your mushrooms and diamondheads to Blue Sherman Hemsley.

Idk if you read these nowadays. With the quality of this video (great editing, reactions, humor) I think this underperformed, even if it did well for your channel. I’m not sure what your relationship with music is, but a lot of the reaction videos that do well will be titled like “Composer reacts to earthbound music” or something to tell the people scrolling why YOU are special and deserve to comment on it. There was a video that did well recently that was “music teacher reacts to earthbound music” or something Maybe a “this is amazing” or “best soundtrack ever?” On the thumbnail to grab attention. I know clickbait is scummy, but it works. What popped in my head was “Best soundtrack ever?” Across the top and just ness’s (Dude’s) sprite on a solid color background or maybe the town map blurred. Not too busy, but catches the eye.

Idk like musical playthrough? I feel like that would be a bit misleading tho somehow
Butterflies refill your PP. almost all dungeons have a "butterfly room" you can go in and out of to fully refill your PP. Butterflies restore 20 PP at a time.
heard you reference the quirky writing. Shigesato Itoi wrote the entire thing himself. Multiple tireless nights probably had him sleep deprived writing alot of it which is why so much of it is quirky.
4:55 in the Japanese version, there's sound effects that looks like a gun shot when the English version is like the slashing of lightsaber? IDK but what's Pokey's Father do with his sons is so dark.
