To me personally, Ten is the best dancer. He has it all.

And imagine, they are together in SuperM.
Yes, Ten actually competed in B-boy competitions when he was younger, so, as you can see, he incorporated a lot of B-boy moves in this choreography. You can hear him talk about it in his behind the scenes videos and in interviews he has done for this project. And he also has a background in gymnastics. Ten is actually known for being one of the most flexible male idols in the Kpop industry, and there are even compilation videos showing Ten flexing his flexibility and WinWin and Ten competing to see who is more flexible, etc. (WinWin is another member of NCT/WayV that has trained in traditional Chinese dance since he was young and is super flexible as well.)
This dance was, at least in part, choreographed by him. Ten is often the one that creates or modifies the most memorable and dynamic parts of NCT/WayV's dances that he is a part of. Most choreographers say they present Ten with choreography and then he changes it and makes it even better. He is a very skilled choreographer as well, which he has shown off in several self-choreographed performances on NCT's UA-cam channels and as a member of SuperM, etc. For Birthday, Ten said he asked his choreographer to come up with dance moves that only he would be able to pull off.
Not only are Ten's backup dancers good, but several of them are also choreographers. Ten is one of the industry's top dancers, but as you are starting to discover, SM actually has several of the best dancers in the Kpop industry, including Taemin from SHINee and Kai from EXO, who are considered the top two BEST dancers of all dancers in Kpop. Therefore, SM has to have the best backup dancers in order for them to be able to keep up with dancers like Ten, Taemin and Kai, etc., which is also why all three are members of SuperM.
For SM artists, if you want to see a true practice video, you have to check out "uncut" or "behind the scenes" dance practice videos. If you check out Ten's 'Birthday' dance practice behind the scenes video, his behind the scenes of his MV shoot and the behind the scenes of recording the song, you can see just how involved he was with this whole project and you will see footage of how everything came together.
Ten was a dance mentor and judge on a Chinese dance competition show Great Dance Crew for several months in China about 6 months before this MV was released, which is where "Birthday" and a short version of this dance was first performed and he also promoted with this song, so he has a few live comeback stage performances you can watch.

Although Ten is a member of WayV, the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, all of Ten's solo songs -- "Dream in a Dream," "New Heroes," "Paint Me Naked," "Birthday" and "Nightwalker" -- are in English because Ten is fluent in English. He grew up attending an international school in Thailand run by British educators, so he spoke English in school. He is native Thai, however, he is fluent in at least 4 languages -- Thai, English, Korean and Mandarin, and he is currently learning Japanese.
Ten first debuted as an original member of NCT-U in 2016 with their "The 7th Sense" MV, as a main dancer and a rapper, but by virtue of the fact that he is an SM Entertainment artist, it shouldn't be a surprise that he is also an outstanding vocalist. LOL. SM is known for being the vocal powerhouse of the industry and all of its artists receive intense vocal training.
Ten is the NCT member with the most solo projects and only the second member to debut solo because he is one of SM's and the industry's top dancers and he is an amazing singer and performer, so SM likes to showcase all his impressive skills. Ten is one of the most talented and skilled artists in Kpop. And yet, not enough people pay attention to him.

I can't believe you guys really did Birthday Dance Practice! I love your reaction and your appreciation of Ten (and art).. Love your hint about upcoming "Nightwalker" reaction (hope i wasn't delusional!!) but if you folks are feeling generous, please also do "Performance: 10" film that has 2 other songs from his album inside, the dancing is phenomenal, I think you will enjoy it tremendously! But no pressure, lol. Even better react to his entire mini album because it's all 6 tracks in english and in 6 different genres.

I'd like to say something: people often pick the best especially if they're new to them, based on how popular they are among fans. For me, even if someone is very popular, I still wouldn't prefer to call them the best. He's kind of underrated because of his company, SM. The amount of promotion they do for other members or artists of their company is not even close to ten. He really did get recognition because of his talent, not because his company promotes him well.
Anyway, Jimin is a main dancer of BTS alongside J-Hope. JK and V are the lead dancers. But here's the thing: even if they're lead, we can still see how good their dancing is, so these labels literally mean nothing to me.
Back to Ten, he's literally the best dancer in K-pop. A little thing that made me upset is that despite being able to pull off such hard choreography and being this elegant, graceful, and effortless while dancing, he still didn't get the recognition he deserves. You'll often see people saying 'he reminds me of Taemin or he's dances like Taemin' 😂. Honestly, I'm kinda tired of hearing this. It's not because I think he's better than Taemin, but because it's kind of become his identity. I mean, he has his own dancing style he's been doing for more than 14 years now. Just because their aura is similar, both are graceful and elegant at dancing, doesn't mean they're copies of each other. I don't mind if they say he's as good as Taemin because that's a huge compliment, but if people disgrace him by saying, 'Yes, he's good, but can't be compared to Taemin because he's phenomenal,' now that's disrespectful. And don't say ' no one says that', because I'm seeing these comments many times, it's not just one or two. Anyway, all I'm saying is it's about preference because in the end, they're all phenomenal without any doubts. You can't even compare.
Omg I totally agree both of Taemin and Ten they have their own unique style If ppl keep digging into each of their skills they won’t say that for sure. Ppl only judge only 1-2 performance that they see but they have not even known how hard that Ten has been through~ Everything is never easy for Ten. He always workhard and develops himself. Because he always thinks that he is not good enough He's a symbol for those who work hard and don't give up, as long as you open mind and keep eyes on him, I'd say you won't be disappointed to support this guy.

I don't think I can say anybody "is the best" because talent is so subjective lol I always say they're one of the best so for me, Ten is one of the best dancers in kpop but I personally can't say he's the best. He's just unbelievably amazing! He performed it even more gracefully live. He's so light on his feet that his moves look effortless. By the way, can you believe he had knee surgery before? It's incredibly shocking that he's able to dance this well after such a major surgery. He's so hardworking, seriously. He's already one of the best dancers in K-pop, and for me, he's my number one favorite dancer, alongside Taemin (from SHINee) and Hyunjin (from Stray Kids). Kai (from EXO) is amazing too, but I'm not a fan of his dancing style that much. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate his dancing; it's just not my preference when I say 'I could watch him dance all day.' Taemin, Hyunjin, and Ten's dancing mesmerize me to the point where I don't think anyone else has that power over me.
Anyway, I'd recommend you guys to check out his birthday live performance. Whether you want to react or watch it on your own, it's up to you, but I highly recommend watching it. You'll see the live formation without any cuts and how good it is live too. It's one of the most difficult choreographies, which requires a lot more strength, and he did it perfectly. He really has good knowledge of when to release and when to hold the moves. That's what makes him look graceful, & ofcourse one of the best dancers in the industry for a reason.
Oh, thank you for bringing up his surgery because most of the new reactors don't know. That's how they'll learn how great, hardworking, and dedicated a dancer he is.

Ten is UNBELIEVABLE. Truly an insane artist and the best dancer of his generation imo. Within NCT I'd consider the best dancers to be Ten, Jisung and Taeyong. But outside of just NCT, the best dancers are usually considered to be Taemin, Kai, Jimin, J-Hope, Shotaro (this is me throwing him in there bc he SHOULD be), Lisa, Momo, Seulgi, San, Hyoyeon, Hoshi, BoA, Yugyeom, just to name some popular choices.

Ten is always being considered one of the best outside nct too, many times. There is a grammy interview for birthday where the interviewer too asked him how its being among best dancers in kpop.
Wayv has less visibility outside , but he gets known for his solo works and nctu

He has been doing B-boying for years. I mean, we don't see it often, but he's really good at it. You can see it randomly in behind-the-scenes of their MVs or dance practice; he does it quite a few times. He has been a mentor and dance leader for 2-3 shows, and it's really an honor and proud moment for him and his fans that he's getting the recognition he deserves despite being underrated. He's an ace of NCT. Sometimes I wonder, what if he had debuted with NCT 127 😂? Would he still be this underrated? Not saying that debuting with WayV is a bad decision; that's definitely the best thing ever. But why the discrimination? WAYV has the best MV production and bop discography you'll ever see, but still, due to a lack of promotion, they're kind of underrated in many countries.
Agreed! 🤡 Sometimes I also wonder what if TEN hadn't had the knee surgery back then. He'd be in NCT 127 right now, and honestly, he'd be one of the most popular members-which he still is compared to others, but it would be different. Because of the amount of talent this guy has, the hard work, dedication, perfection, and sensuality in his dancing are so mesmerizing and sometimes too much to handle.
The reason I also prefer TEN, Hyunjin, Taemin, Kai, and Jimin more in dancing is that their dancing doesn't only define just masculinity or just femininity; they can do both, and that's so attractive. What would be the perfect term for this? Gender-neutral? Yes, I guess. Because many people can Dance but doing is like them is a true art.

Or if he could debut as soloist and given those right promotion tours from the start. Superm was one of the best thing in terms of promotion he experienced, then his solo, as he is more known among kpop fan as soloist than wayv.
Wish wayv gets more promotion, its language barrier too is one big factor although their english song always the best gets many new fans
@@Wisecatx I don't think language barrier can be an issue in music; otherwise, no one would be listening to K-pop, regardless of whether it's Chinese, Korean, Spanish, English, or any other language. The only problem they have is a lack of promotion, and that's it. WAYV as a whole is very popular in China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan & ofcourse well known in Korea too (according to my knowledge). And as individuals, we all know who is more popular. So, popularity only depends on how much promotion you're getting for people to know you. Despite being talented, they're still underrated due to the lack of promotion SM is doing for them. I get it that they're more focused on the Chinese market, in which they're successful, but more people need to know them. Their music is not typical Chinese music; their songs' vibe is the same as K-pop, so I don't see any difference in their music. Obviously, they have their uniqueness in it.
@@Wisecatx Yes, SuperM was literally the best thing ever. Because of that group, they were well-known. I'm not even talking about the music videos; the amount of lines he gets was so disappointing. But anyways, when they were on tour, he got noticed by many fans because of his charismatic stage presence, which was a good thing. And yes, English is a worldwide spoken language, so that's why their English songs are popular, but I also think that's not just the case 🤡. Their songs are popular because people are thirsty 🤣🤣. Why "Birthday" is a well-known song, even if people didn't watch the MV, they still know the song. How can we forget about "Love Talk," "Bad Alive"? So, in conclusion, if you want to grab people's attention, make hoe anthems 🤣.
Ten is probably the most flexible, he can kick the back of his head with his foot and he can dance just about any style. Taemin has the most tight muscle control but with Shinee he's a bit more loose. Taeyang is a smooth control, Shoong, where he dances with Lisa shows that. Hyunjin's artist of the month is insane. Lay, I love his solo MV's, a bit theatrical, a bit of history, a couple of dragons, unfortunately he didn't release The Flying Apsaras MV but there is a teaser, fantastic. Moonbin was a fine artist, dance, sing but unfortunately he passed away a year ago. If you watch his group Astro, Lee Know and Hyunjin both danced with them. If you like Queen, Forestella is probably the closest I've ever heard to the original. Enjoy the journey, there is just so much talent in K-pop, J-pop, C-pop and P-pop.

While none of these is actually MY favorite dancer, from what I’ve seen the best (male) dancers in kpop are considered to be Taemin, Ten, Kai, and Hoshi.

I personally fell in love with this choreography, so I'd say Ten because no one can move like Ten. You have to be this good to cover his songs; otherwise, you'll look bad. I really appreciate his dancers who can keep up with him at his level! They are probably the best dancers. I'm still a fan of Jimin's dancing style because they both mesmerize me. However, if I have to choose one, it's 100% Ten.

As someone who is not a dancer, my list of best dancers in Kpop would be Taemin, Ten, Kai, Jimin, Hoshi (SVT in general), San, Yeonjun, Hyunjin, Juyeon, Rocky in no particular order. I know I didn't list any female artists and there are very talented people as well, I just don't know them as well. I am sure there are others I missed.

JHope is absolutely in the club. As an Army, I like to explain the difference between skill and talent with Jimin and JHope. Jimin is a skilled dancer, he's put in his 10,000 hours. JHope is talented, he was born with the brain-body rhythm connection.
I think Ten is the best, my favorite is Hyunjin and San, Jimin is excellent and has natural movement. Jungkook is actually a perfectionist and extremely talented too. Hoshi is just so creative and extraordinary too. And then there's Niki too.
So what I'm hearing is, go add more Ten requests
For some reason kpop fans like to overlook the talent of nct in general let alone the talent of each member,
SM is know as the vocal powerhouse but for me it is the company of the best well rounded idols like the have the best vocals the best dancers great rappers...

When people talk about the best K-pop dancers, Ten is definitely mentioned up there. I think he's considered one of the top 5.
He's called THE best dancer in NCT, top 3 in SM, top 5 in boy groups if we add girl group probably top 8.
Personally, he's in my top 2.

NGL, it's not a comparison or disrespect, but I really prefer Jimin's dancing. I love Ten, I love Taemin. But if you ask me who I could watch dancing for the rest of my life, I'd say Jimin without any second thought 😂. However, my fellows and friends called me out for herd mentality. I'm bringing this up because I really love K-pop and enjoy introducing it to my friends and family by asking who they like the most. Since they're not familiar with any of the idols, they give an honest review. That's when I realized they prefer Ten's dancing more than Taemin, Kai, and Jimin. They were shocked to the point where I began doubting myself. They clearly said Ten is far better than all three of them, and I was like, 'What?? Do you even know how great they are?' They responded with 'They might be, but no one is moving like Ten.' I thought, 'Yeah, I know, but why did you call me out for having herd mentality?' They said, 'Because you're being biased and believing what the majority believes without giving second thoughts or analyzing the differences in their dancing.' I was kind of upset 😭, but then I really thought I might be doing the same thing. Anyway, I still prefer Jimin, though after that, I really, really changed my mind about Ten. He's phenomenal, and now I really prefer his dancing over Taemin's.

To be honest, where's the lie? Many people are biased because they see others calling someone the best dancer, then they might be 😂. I'd say I prefer Ten the most without saying he's the best, although he's 🤣. But that's really true, because I also showed Ten & Taemin's music & dancing to my best friend & his sister, and they also said the same thing: 'TEN is unbelievably smooth & precise,' even though they still said that in terms of music, both are very much similar, Very artistic, But for dancing, they prefer TEN. And it's not because of one video; I've made them watch all of their dancing videos & music videos 😂, but they still said the same thing.

The ease and elegance of Ten's movements along with his refinement and breadth in the art of telling a story through his body are incomparable to other Kpop artists. And that includes Taemin, Jimin, Kai, Hoshi, Dino, and J-hope. He is the creme de la creme among the creme de la creme.
There may be things other dancers can do better than him like Taemin's signature "vibration" moves or Jhope may possibly have a more extensive street dance background than him. But if you consider everything, most especially the most important things about dance like refinement of skills, expression, aesthetics and performance, Ten will still be a league of his own cuz all his strengths far outweighs the strengths of his kpop contemporaries.

SM must be careful and very cautious not to waste this man's talents. Taemin already left the company just recently among others. They'd better protect TEN at all costs!!!
I doubt it'll make any difference. TEN is known for his talent and dancing, but SM isn't promoting him as much as they do for others 😴. So, what's the benefit of him working with SM 🤡 if he were to leave SM in the future, I believe he'd still be the best artist and even more recognized. 😂
