So concerned with life in the womb. They don't care about life already here. The children in Alabama have a sub par educational system for the children who are already here.

Also, if the pro-life side really didn't care for children after they were born, explain to me why we're the ones who consistently advocate for children to be raised by a traditional family with BOTH MOTHER AND FATHER PRESENT?!! This takes care of their poverty, their emotional needs, their shelter, their productivity in society & avoidance of criminality, etc.

As someone who has had a miscarriage this is frightening. I was totally mentally preparing myself to be a mother. I took prenatal vitamins started eating right made appointments i did everything I felt was appropriate after finding out I was expecting. It was so stressful and I'm thinking about my life, what I needed to change how would I do this all for it to miscarry at 7 weeks. The fact someone would even assume I induced that is appalling. After that my body was all out of whack for a good 2 months so how can someone make a decision on something they never have to experience. I've even asked my significant other if having a baby put my life at risk would he be willing to go through it and he said no. This is something that should be left up to decide between the parties privately involved.

mssheltn1 I'm so sorry you had to go through this. And what she is talking about is if you miscarry they will INVESTIGATE you to make sure the woman didn't induce the miscarriage. It's already so hard to go through emotionally and physically but now they are going to be reaching even more into our personally lives and put us on the stand for an accidental loss.

    • @Kingatje
      @Kingatje 5 років тому +19

@mssheltn1 In whatever way is it "convenient" to either stuff yourself with cell-killing pills (early abortion) ie poison, or to have a doctor almost literally carve out the live embryo from your womb by sticking up tools through your vagina?
That's ignoring the emotional, mental exercise you need to make to decide if you'll end a life growing inside you. It is not an easy choice to make, but it should remain that; a choice.
It is indeed much more "convenient" to bring a baby into this world once you know you'll be able to give it a safe environment - the circumstances that such a new life deserves, instead of hardship.

@@lastnamefirst_ I'm saying men who can't afford to take care of a kid he never wanted have no choice in our current system. I'm 100% against the courts forcing unmarried men to be fathers (financially responsible). Why? Because in most cases the men don't get a vote. Many people in society would tell a man to man up and take his responsibility, while being ok with a woman aborting a child that she is not prepared financially to be responsible for. In many cases, some people would say her having an abortion was a responsible decision. If men can't opt out of being a parent after an unplanned pregancy, then a woman should not be able to also. For the record, I have daughters and sons and I strongly believe this.

    • @MarvAuthor
      @MarvAuthor 5 років тому +1

Most women don't know the pain of one life being at risk in a jail because of child support; the mother was a one night stand or someone who guaranteed she couldn't get pregnant. Women have how many forms of birth control? The morning after pill? How effective is contraception at preventing pregnancy?
How effective your contraception is depends on the type you use and whether you use it correctly.
Some methods are more effective than others. You need to follow the instructions and use your contraception correctly for it to be as effective as possible.
With some methods, such as the implant, there's no need to remember to take or use them. These are known as methods with "no user failure".
No contraceptive is 100% reliable, and some can have side effects. Find out about all the methods available so you can decide which contraceptive is right for you.
All the methods are listed here, showing how effective they are with "perfect use". This is when the method is always used correctly.
Some methods are less effective with "typical use". This is when the method isn't always used correctly - for example, missing a pill or getting the injection later than you need to. Some methods don't have typical use rates because they have no user failure.
Contraception is less effective at preventing pregnancy if not used correctly
You don't have to remember to take or use these methods. They have no user failure, so are not less effective with typical use.
Contraceptive implant: more than 99% effective with perfect use. They work for three years but can be taken out earlier. Fewer than 1 in 100 women using the implant will get pregnant in a year.
Intrauterine system (IUS): more than 99% effective. An IUS normally works for five years but can be taken out earlier. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant over five years when using an IUS.
Intrauterine device (IUD): more than 99% effective. An IUD can stay in place for 5 to 10 years depending on the type but can be taken out at any time. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year, depending on the type of IUD. Older types are less effective.
      Contraceptive injection
      Contraceptive injection.
Perfect use: more than 99% effective. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using contraceptive injections regularly.
Typical use: around 94% effective. Around 6 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year.
The injection lasts for 8 or 12 weeks, depending on the type.
      Patch and ring
      Contraceptive patch
Perfect use: more than 99% effective. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using the contraceptive patch correctly.
Typical use: around 91% effective. Around 9 in 100 women who use the patch will get pregnant in a year.
      Vaginal ring
Perfect use: more than 99% effective. Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using the vaginal ring correctly.
Typical use: around 91% effective. Around 9 in 100 women using the ring will get pregnant in a year.
      Contraceptive pill
      Combined contraceptive pill
Perfect use: more than 99% effective . Fewer than 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using the combined pill correctly.
Typical use: around 91% effective .Around 9 in 100 women using the combined pill will get pregnant in a year.
      Progestogen-only pill
Perfect use: 99% effective. Around 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using the progestogen-only pill correctly.
Typical use: around 91% effective. Around 9 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year.
      Sterilisation (permanent contraception)
Female sterilisation: more than 99% effective. Around 1 in 200 women will become pregnant in their lifetime after being sterilised.
Male sterilisation or vasectomy: around 1 in 2,000 men can become fertile again in their lifetime after a vasectomy.
      Male and female condoms
      Male condoms
Perfect use: 98% effective. This means that 2 in 100 women whose partners use a condom will get pregnant in a year.
Typical use: around 82% effective. This means around 18 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year.
      Female condoms
Perfect use: 95% effective. About 5 in 100 women who use a female condom will get pregnant in a year.
Typical use: around 79% effective. Around 21 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year.
      Diaphragms and caps
      Diaphragms and caps
Perfect use: 92-96% effective. Between 4 and 8 women in 100 who use a diaphragm or cap with spermicide will get pregnant in a year.
Typical use: around 71-88% effective. Between 12 and 29 women in 100 using a diaphragm or cap will get pregnant in a year.
      Natural family planning
      Natural family planning
Perfect use: can be up to 99% effective if the natural family planning methods are followed precisely. These include monitoring cervical secretions and your basal body temperature. It's more effective if more than one method is used and it's taught by specialist teachers. Up to 1 in 100 women will get pregnant in a year when using this method perfectly.
Typical use: around 76% effective. Around 24 in 100 women using natural family planning will get pregnant in a year.

Anti-choicers would reply that men are sent to war zones and will face the risk of death or injury, but to me that's not the same thing. I don't understand why women's bodily autonomy goes out the window when it comes to pregnancies. In a country so enamoured with personal freedoms and individual rights that you don't have to give a blood sample or DNA sample if not ordered by a court, women have to be used as host for a fetus for nine months (with all the risks to health and life that entails), and then have to support that child for 18 years. If women are forced to continue their pregnancies to term, I think that men should be forced to donate blood, sperm and organs to whomever needs it. Think about all the lives that could be saved if organ donations were made mandatory. But that wouldn't fly in the US, would it? People (men) would cry "what about my bodily autonomy?".

    Scientific explanation of fetal development:
Egg and sperm are living cells. Egg and sperm fuse together which creates a single celled organism called a Zygote. This process is fertilization. Zygote then undergoes cell division. A Multi-cellular organism is called an embryo. The embryo keeps going through cell division. This growing organism is a fetus.
Until the 2nd trimester a fetus is extremely fragile. If errors occur in early stages of cell division the zygote/embryo will be flushed out of the uterus. This is a miscarriage. Fetal development is 100% dependent of the maternal body. All nutrients for fetal development are absorbed from the maternal body. At 24 weeks, if a fetus is outside of the maternal body there is 20-35% chance of survival if proper medical equipment is accessible.
Infants are dependent on the constant care and breastfeeding from the maternal body for at least the first three months of life outside of the uterus. The infant and mother pair is called a couplet in a hospital. There is no infant without the mother. A female without and infant is a female, not a mother. Life is continuous through generations of any living organisms.
    What constitutes a living organism:
    Obtains energy from raw materials
    Respiration
    Movement
    Excretes waste
    Grows
    Reproduces
    Has sensitivity to external stimuli

Late term are only done if the mother and/or the baby is going to die. A women is automatically eligible for Medicaid and food stamps if she falls under the guidelines of poverty and gets pregnant. "Your deficit is going to soar." Whether you want to pay for Medicaid, food stamps, WIC, and housing
for women or not "you will". Taxes will go up, and up. Only 45% of men pay the child support ordered by the courts. Most poor women are not covered by insurance so medicaid is their only option. It's a lot harder to go to school when your pregnant so get ready for more high school and college drop outs. Child care expenses are outrageous so many women will have to stay home if they have a couple of children, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. It's a shame this is the way America is but poverty and homelessness is growing in our country and no one wants to talk about that. There will have to be many more programs paid for by the state to accommodate women in their pregnant state who are alcoholics and drug addicts, or their children born addicted or disabled. Don't forget all of the lawyers and judges to sort out custody, child support, and all of the indictments they are planning on charging women with. If ‘you’ don’t want an abortion, I respect that. Don’t have one. But ‘you’ don’t walk in anyone else’s shoes but your own. ‘You’ have no idea what is going on in ‘her’ life. @oliver_twistor 5 років тому +4

By saying abortion is murder and that life begins at conception, you make a lot of assertions without providing arguments for them, besides claiming that it "makes sense".
      1. Murder implies both intent and a victim that is a person. I grant you the intent part, because abortion is by definition intentional (otherwise it would be called miscarriage). But what you need to provide an argument for is that the fetus is a person. One example on why murder implies a victim that is a person: you can say that you killed a dog, but not that you murdered that dog (not in the legal sense of the word, anyway, and that is what counts when it comes to legislation). The dog is a living being, the same as the fetus, but is it a _person_ ?
      2. Your statement "life begins at conception" depends on the definition of life. If you mean life as in plants, amoebas or bacteria, I'd agree with you. However, it's only one cell, albeit with all the DNA necessary for a human being to evolve. If you instead mean life as in a baby, a dog or a fully grown man or woman (that is, an organism with a brain and some sort of self-awareness), I have to disagree. I wouldn't call a zygote a human being or a person any more than I would call a sperm or an egg half a person.
If a zygote (or at a later stage, an embryo) is a person, it should also be afforded all the other rights of personhood under the Constitution: the right to bear arms, the right to vote etc. Do you agree? If not, why?
