A good fight and I would have tried as you did to gain altitude in the 190 on that first engagement. What I would have done differently is to have kept in a shallow climbing turn and waited for the Laggs to try come up and join me. This way you can pick them off when they reach low energy at the top of their climbs as well as giving yourself almost no exposure to their guns.

Using a 1945 FW-190 against 1943 La-5s? That's hardly fair. At least, you should've let the Soviet pilots fly the La-7. It doesn't hurt to have about a 15 mph speed advantage over the enemy pilots, I guess.
two things: Whenever I'm in trouble in an FW I always go as low as I can go; the AI has problems; second: you should try to recreate a mission German Fighter Pilot Norbert Hannig wrote about in his war memoir: he was part of an escort 'rotte' (pair) of FW190s who were protecting a BF-110 on an artillery spotting mission. Between 10 & 16 LaGG 3s scrambled to intercept them so he and his flight leader had to protect the 110 & fend off the LaGGs. On the 'bright side' his rotte had a sizeable altitude advantage they were able to keep.

I just started playing this game and in an F6F i can`t even catch up with a Bf 110 because the damn thing won`t fly any faster than around 300 km/h. In flight i`m using keyboard controls for the flaps, radiator and of course the throttle. What am i missing that will make this thing go faster? I mean c`mon an F6F will go twice as fast in real life.
Very good video, I would of loved for you to be at a disadvantage, it wouldn't ended well with you.
I tried the scenario several times. The only way to win was to out climb the La's and get 1 at a time. Thanks for watching!
