    Pliers to pull the needle through thick spots. Omg, that's so reasonable, I can't believe this is the first time I've seen it/never thought of that. My hands thank you. Really beautiful work here!

    I just finished making this hat for my sister in law. However, since she didn't have the money to make it out of leather, I made it out of 3mm thick felt... it looks just as cool !

    I made this this past weekend. Very easy to follow. I had much thinner 3oz leather and added some 18g wire in the brim to stiffen it up. It came out beautifully.
    I added a hat band and now I can hide my phone, wallet and car keys without them being visible. This will be perfect for ren faires.
    Thanks so much for the wonderful pattern on Esty and the video!

    An excellent project, Tony! Moreover, the straightforward, no nonsense way you presented it gave it a great focus on the work itself. Bravo!

    Very nice pattern and video! I was just finishing cutting and taping the papers together :) I thought there would be an aluminum wire in that hat like the top hat, but stitching makes it just perfect too!!

Gracias. Un placer ver tus vídeos.

    I bought this pattern but it won't print correct size on USA letter size paper 8.5" x 11". I cannot seem to adjust the 1" margins in my print screen. Selecting fit to page makes the block small 2.5/16" small. Help?

    I wonder if it's possible to take the crown portion of this hat and add a smaller brim to make a simplified Bowler Hat. I know that Tony already has a Bowler Hat pattern but that stitch count though....*shudders*

    whats the best way to punch the right number of holes into the sweatband

  • @JnJShiffler
    @JnJShiffler Рік тому

    So what was your sweatband material? Chrome tanned? Why grain side out vs. flesh side? Newbie here.

    • @AcidJurassic
      @AcidJurassic Рік тому

      i think its due to the tricorn hat design the flesh side is on the inside so it shows when bent upwards. Not sure if the inside grain in waterproof though so might need to do a double layer so it doesnt rot

    Hello Tony,
    I've purchased many of your patterns and I love them. I have one recurring issue that I've been able to work around on all the previous patterns but this one is different because it's round. The issue is that the top of every page is missing. That is, the dotted lines are cut off. The first thing that shows up is just a very small piece of the scissor handle. I do set my printer setting for "actual size." I've also tried to get into the margin settings to try to "open up" the printing area, but I've had no success with that. I'm using Adobe Acrobat to open and print. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

      Unfortunately some home printers will cut off the bottom or the top of the page no matter what you do.
      So i found a solution and made a quick tutorial on how to go around this problem
