    thank you for making this video it was a HUGE help, the back brake pad is probably the worst brake pad I have ever dealt with it is extremely tricky to get in there. once it is in it is in though it is in. Thanks again!

    One thing I want to point out to people is if you are doing the rear brakes you have to not have the parking brake on (the switch next to shifter) or it will lock the caliper on and not allow it to budge . Put it in Park and Chock the wheels you will be fine i left the car on stand for 7 hours overnight with it in Park . It was fine . Just know this if you cant get the rear calipers off thats why. Thank you for this video

    Thanks for this and all the money you're going to save me. Also, thank you for torquing things down. Some people don't realize there's a such thing as "too tight". I'm just a girl who was told she can't do her own brakes. I used to do my Grand Am, but I own a Malibu Eco now (don't judge me, it was a gift) and was afraid the "regenerative braking" might be different than normal brakes. I can do this, with a PB&j sandwich in the other hand. 😊

    At the end, did you have an air compressor running? Or no oil in that engine?

    Do you have to use that loner tool to squeeze the caliper on the back? Can you not use a C-Clamp for that too?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 місяців тому +1

      You really need the loaner tool because you have to twist it clockwise while applying pressure. Hope this helps.

    Can you get the caliper bracket off easily to replace the rotors?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Рік тому

      Yes . The bolts will be tight but a breaker bar will take them loose easily. Thanks for the feedback.

    when i install the caliper pins, i always burp the compressed air out by opening the rubbers, it prevents back spring tension pad wear ...

    is it absolutely necessary to clean and re grease those 2 things you pulled out at 4:58?

    • @silvergunsmoke494
      @silvergunsmoke494 Рік тому

      Yes absolutely. The pins are vital to the whole brake system. They tend to get seized if they’re not lubed and that will cause premature brake wear and all kinds of problems

    • @s33therfan

      I always like to spray them with wd40 or preferably white lithium pb blaster. Prevents them from ripping or tearing. Great question thank you for watching.

    Why isn’t my caliper coming off

    • @JordanArend-is9kh
      @JordanArend-is9kh Рік тому

      Because you probably have the parking brake on while youre working on the rear brakes . It doesnt allow the caliper to disengage the piston after taking the bolts off.
