Dear Sir your audio needs to be adjusted up.....also the Sigma MC-11 does not work on FX30 AF-C is no good. I have used it and it will single focus but no AF- C.
As a beginner filmmaker, Im planning to buy Fx 30 with 18-105. What’s your suggestions on other accessories to build a solid base for my filmmaking career?
The 16-55 has been known to be better in image quality but when looking at price, it may be worth it since it’s not “hundreds of dollars” better. Most people cant tell the difference.
Hey mike Im also a nurse here in the bay and Im interested in Videography but Im a total noob when it comes to it, what do you suggest i do to get more experience and content for my channel? Also with our job as nurses how do you find time to do all of this?
Yo. My general advice is to continue to make videos and do it more often. Study what makes a good video in the style that you want get better at. As a nurse, you literally just have to make time after work and on days off. I’ve been doing this for a little more than three years and at this point it’s part of my routine.
I have the sigma trio, but I'm thinking of replacing the 30mm with the 18-50, I'm afraid of losing that background blur, but I know that the zoom is more versatile. Mainly used for street photos, and some portraits. Please reply soon.
I was thinking a similar thing, but you can still get background blur with the 18-50 if you distance yourself close enough too. I'm a huge fan of the 30mm. But if you can only have one lens, the 18-50 is definitely too versatile to ignore.
Man I love your contents and constant upload about the FX30. I think the world brought me to this moment cus I just got the FX0 a few weeks ago so I've been watching your stuff a lot! But turns out, you're a really good creator plus a kabayan too! I'm glad I'm a subscriber. Keep 'em coming, kapatid!
Mike, just looking for an opinion from someone who has way more experience than I do. I am just a hobbyist. I currently have the Sony A7IV - the only lenses that I have are the Sony 20--600mm G OSS as I like to shoot wildlife and birds as one subject; and the Sony 24mm f1.4 GM which I use for walk around and landscapes. I know that the Sony A7IV is capable of shooting some nice video (I am only looking for around the neighborhood, family, travel, etc.), but I want to get a second camera body and start focusing and learning a bit more about video. I was thinking about the Sony FX30 and then contemplating the lenses I would get. Then the Sony ZV-E1 comes out and that would still be full frame, which means everything else I currently have (also have the Sony 50mm f1.4 GM on order, ships April 20th) and would get, will work. I used to own the Sony A7C as well as the Sony A6600. I thought I would try full frame, so got rid of the A6600. However, for my size of hands the Sony A7C just seemed to be too small, didn't really like the grip. So, I really have a few options, though leaning toward the FX30. I could sell the Sony 24mm F1.4 GM, let the Sony 50mm F1.4 GM come in, get the Sony 16-35mm f4 G which would give me some nice lenses for my A7IV, but I could also use the 16-35mm f4 on the FX30 tp get the 24-52.5mm equivalent and then maybe buy the Sony 11 F1.8 for really wide. Or just get the FX30 and the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8, start using it and see what I feel like I am missing?!?!?
Sounds like for the grip comfort alone unless you can get a extended grip for the zv-e1, the sony fx30 has that same full frame grip and feel. 18-50mm is a great place to start. I would try to make the zv-e1 workout with an extension grip to stay ff glass
@@MikeBSalazar brill! I’m currently all Canon systems. I’m using r5 now but when i hired a second shooter using sony, geabe the SLog and low light performance anlinis grabe!
That's a solid choice. I personally love the telephoto end of lenses. 85 is a nice street lens and then you can get a little more punch for landscape depending on what and where you're shooting like mountains. otherwise maybe you'd like wider landscapes like the tamron's 17-28
Some say the Tamron is a tad bit better. Wide open its sharp from center to edges. Tokina is sharper in the center wide open but slightly softer at edges. Focus is accurate on both.

Mike you have been absolutely crushing it!! Question: why choose Sony over Canon? Cause I am in a predicament where I need to decide if I am going to continue with Canon or switch my entire gear line to the Sony cinema line (Fx30, fx3)... just interested to hear your thoughts on why you stuck to Sony.
Hey Mike! Thank you! I suppose I can make this into a video response, but as someone who also enjoyed using and having Canon cameras and lenses I began using Sony for a somewhat lighter footprint with their body and lenses. As much as it's appealing and functional to have C100, C200 types of bodies, it's still amazing how much you can do with in smaller mirrorless bodies. Danny Gevirtz I believe broke his C200 by dropping it, but has now since been using Sony FX3 for his work. The ability to shoot well in a low-profile without having to rig up much is great, but people like Chris Franklin, still rigging his up with pro work with cine primes and all that jazz. For me nowadays it's about functionality and value. I'm realizing I'm more video first but even before the FX3 and FX30, I was able to customize my hybrid cameras well for video and I really feel like it's my camera when I set it up to style of shooting in terms of ergonomics. Resolutions and frame rates more accessible (cuz back then you'd have to have like 1dx mark II for 120 fps at 1080) and with this alone I feel like I can also shoot anything from UA-cam videos to weddings and events because I don't feel limited by the internals of the camera in terms of codecs and frame rates and other tools provided in the camera. Plus, there's more lens choices now than back then, especially from third-party. So I don't have to try to adapt older Sony lenses or any other lenses if I want to keep a smaller setup. Everything else really performs the way I need it to, especially the video autofocus.
If you're willing to adapt lenses also consider the Sigma 18-35mm and Sigma 50-150mm.

To loud music background.
Was going to say the same thing. still good video, thanks
hey man great video! just thought i’d suggest mixing your voice louder and music quieter, they get a bit muddled up sometimes.
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it!
Great vid man! Awesome lenses. Love using the Sigma 18-50mm with the Sony FX30 👌 taken it out in rain and snow and had no issues so far
Thanks man! I hear nothing but great things about the lens.
The quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better!
Thank you!

I have a rig build and accessories video for the FX30 😇
Heyo! Thanks for the video , how is the quality of the Sony 16-55 to the sigma 18-50 , are they pretty similar ? Or is s the Sony better ?

What lens are you using for the main talking head shot here? Thanks!
I think I was using the Sony 16-55 F2.8

I have a tamron 28-75mm f2.8 that I had for my a7iii what else lens is good for I guess street photography/landscape ?? Love the video btw man 🙏

So the Tamron Sony E mount lens can go on the Sony FX30?
Yes! Absolutely!
Really helpful video for choosing my next lens, thanks!
Very welcome!
Is there any lenses for this camera that opens to f/1.4 and has a wide zoom range for example 24-70mm?
Unfortunately no. Only primes.
Any idea if the Tokina 11-18 is comparable to the Tamron 11-20 in terms of image quality, focus etc?
Some say the Tamron is a tad bit better. Wide open its sharp from center to edges. Tokina is sharper in the center wide open but slightly softer at edges. Focus is accurate on both.
