Gator versus kayak......... You two are true adventurers. Silver Springs looks like a nice place to visit. great job on the video, a really clear picture.
I love Silver Springs, it's a really cool place. Never kayaked there, only taken the glass-bottomed boats. Next time I go I'm definitely paddling! Peace out!
I hope you get to! This is one thing Catfish and I definitely want to go back and do again, kayaking among the wildlife was amazing. But also, there is so much more to the park than we knew at the time! We only went to the front, "touristy" area, but we later found out there were more trails in the back of the park that we never visited.
I used to feel the same about the gators, but I've learned they are typically lethargic and pay little attention to people. We almost bumped into a small one when we floated a little to close to the banks!
Very cool! Did you launch from within the park? Saw one sitting on the handrail in the boardwalk trail of the park and a ton swinging from the branches.
This was one trip that truly deserves to be called an "adventure." It appears that the monkeys migrate throughout the forest, just in the few hours we were there we could see the entire tribe moving toward the east. I had completely forgotten about there being monkeys in FL until you mentioned it, great tip!
Man what a cool kayaking trip! I have scuba dived 3 different springs in Florida, but never got to kayak them. The clear blue water is amazing. I didn't realize there was monkey's in Florida. I am assuming they were released? Lot of cool wildlife we never get to see up here for sure. Florida really is a very cool state to explore. I hope to see more of it again myself in the future.
It was very cool! The monkeys were released in that area back in the 1930s, when a tour boat operator released them to "enhance the experience" and they've been there ever since. I love Florida for the wildlife and various habitats.
Yes, actually rhesus macaques. They were brought there decades ago, when the owner of the land at the time was running river tours. Over the years, the monkeys have expanded into other areas.
The intro was the best intro ever seen Edit:well, that’s my opinion I’m at it right now and it is awesome! Those rhesus monkeys are so cool it’s stupid how they want to kill them.
How is it stupid as they are an invasive species that is beginning to branch out beyond the park. There has also been several instances of them behaving aggressively toward visitors. And the best part of all, a decent percentage of the monkeys carry a deadly strain of the herpes virus. I bet you're a fan of pythons in FL too.
@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions I did not see any. A youngster asked about the monkeys but it was the first I heard about them. We did not see any either.
That’s a great video Slone! All that wildlife along the river is so cool! We want you to share it on Campfire so you can have a chance to win a kayak, cooler, and some free publicity in our video of the month contest! Upload it here! campfire.outsidetv.com/home
I once looked into why the monkeys never left Monkey Island in the Homosassa River and learned they have negative buoyancy and sink like proverbial rocks. So if surrounded by water, they never get over into human-populated areas. This was a critter-rich video for sure. That forest makes me think of Ahnold ordering the strike team to "Get to the choppa'".
I miss going on the jungle cruise at silver springs and the antique cars museum and the glass bottom boats
We had hoped to revisit Silver Springs in December, but the day we were in the area was cold & rain, believe it or not! Thanks for watching!

It was definitely an adventure! Thanks for watching.
I have always wanted to visit this Gem in the forest and see the magnificent wildlife in it's original habitat!
Nice Video!! Making my way to Silver Springs in a few days and get some video!! Looks amazing!!
Kayaking here is going to be one of our highlights, definitely better than the theme parks - silver Springs does look amazing.
You'll have a blast! We've been wanting to get back to Silver Springs to kayak it again, such a great experience.
Sure is awesome , I haven't been back there in years up until now so thanks guys !
Thanks for watching! We'll go back someday I'm sure, Catfish loved the experience.
Very cool video my friends! Keep them coming

Totally worth doing the kayak! It's an easy paddle, but with so much to see.
Awesome... Looked like fun!
It was definitely fun! Kayaking is fun anyway, the wildlife put it over the top.
Cool place to kayak. Really does look like the rain forest, especially with monkeys in the trees.
Great video. I’ve been watching a lot of videos of this park lately. Definitely want to go!

This is one place that's definately on my bucket list. I'll pass on the 'gators though!

When i send the gator I was like I don’t play with demons
Great Place, Great Vid. Keep sharing and be safe..
Thanks! Safety is definitely priority.

The park rents kayaks, which is what we did. But you can bring your own and launch from the same spot.
you got to see the monkeys!!!!!......I have been there so many times and have never seen them...what a great adventure for you guys!!!

Wow!! That is wild! How many hrs would you say that kayaking ride was?

How did you manage to dive? Everything is locked and they refuse any divers or snorkelers... so disappointing

Good job Slone. I would rather be there than Disney any day. We went a couple weeks ago.
Awesome, did you get to see the macaques? They are fun to watch, along with all the other wildlife!
