External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during his remarks at the Shanghai Cooperation Summit In Islamabad, emphasised the need for territorial integrity and cooperation based on mutual respect.
While referring to terrorism, extremism & separatism as the "three evils", he added, that cross-border terrorism does not boost trade.
Jaishankar's presence in Pakistan signifies the first visit by an Indian Foreign Minister since 2015. What are the implications of his address and what lies ahead for India - Pakistan relations?

I disagree with the pak ambassador on that lndia should have talks with Pakistan, give the satisfaction to pak of talking and then they beat around about kashmir and show disagreement. They feel a sense of importance, they need attention. India is right in ignoring them.

As a Pakistani, I can tell you, people of Pakistan do not bring India into their discourse, it's the ruling elite which looks to the east with weird hopes, it's like we did not care when these people in power wanted animosity with India nor do we care now as they seek friendship. We need to sort ourselves out first, there is a disconnect between the people and the rulers.

Dr Jayshankar states that there is a need for introspection as to why friendship falls short (between Pakistan& India) and Why good neighborliness falls short (between Pakistan& India). Obviously, India is not responsible for those shortcomings as it is at the receiving end of cross-border terrorism sponsored by Pakistan. Therefore the real need for introspection is for Pakistan. Dr Jayshankar meant that. However, neither Barkha nor Sinha could counter Mallik's blunt attempt to misinterpret Dr Jayshankars statement in this regard.

In other words, India is a democracy to its citizens not to the neighboring countries. Why India should give a s**t what the mode of politics in the neighboring country. I follow the developments in Pakistan and the five legs of the Pakistani establishment are (in order of importance) Army chief, ISI chief, Shehbaz, Chief justice, Zardari.. Nawaz is not even on the top 10 list of powerful/relevant people in Pakistan. Him talking about peace with India holds the same weight as a commoner from Lahore saying, "sab ikko hi hain".. and nothing can be farther from the truth. Nahi hain ikko

The Pakistani diplomat has very nicely pitched the case that India should allow Pak to host SAARC meet and also host the champions trophy and mainstream them from total irrelevance in South Asia and the cricketting circles to boost their economy.

Pakistan and India relationship already touch the lowest bottom. Now logically it will not go low further the only way is to bounce back. Now if either country want to keep it at lowest level will analyze from cost and benefit. But reverting relatiomship normalcy have high dividend for the people of both countries. If sense prevail and both countries take care of people both India and Pakistan reverse the direct of relationship to normalcy and both countries be a normal country for each other at the lowest level.
