I can’t wait for RF to open again! And to try my new Diawa Electric. I know some will hate on that, but as a private boater, I’m dealing with the boat, bait, rigging my friends or grandkids, dealing with their snags and fish, cleaning…..often with 20ozs. in order to stick bottom! I need a little help, LOL Nice vid man!
Amen to that brother! Sheephead opens a month early on March 1st if you're looking for a pre-spring treat & you don't have to fish out deep. We used a Diawa electric on my friends boat @ the South 9 last year & caught limits. You'll definitely have a blast with that deep dropping for tasty Rockfish. The captain's life is a tough life but somebody's gotta do it! Good luck out there this year & thank you for commenting & viewing the content. It's super appreciated @kenebert8974 🤙🏼
Boat leaves @ 8:30AM sharp, DON'T BE LATE 🤣 That rig worked pretty good that day & Seaforth sells some nice rigs for deep dropping as well. April 1st Rockfish opener BOOM 🎣
I'd use a Rock Cod Rig, double dropper loop setup (easy baiter) for Rock Fishing if they're fishing 100 feet or more. Otherwise, I'd drop down a Sardine on a single dropper loop for Bass, Lingcod, Sheephead. Check in with the landing the day of your trip & also the crew onboard they'll steer you in the right direction 🤙🏼
@@SlaycationFishing Very cool. I’ve done rock cod fishing but I seen that Gavin thing in the bag. Biggest circle hook I have is a 3/0. I like the way the skipper said they’ll spin off on a J hook. Sounds like a nice crew. I was concerned about parking, I thought they were close to H&M. Not! Hate that parking lot there. This will be my first time at Seaforth.
The New Seaforth crew are str8 pro's when it comes to our local fishery. All items used to catch anything on their vessel is sold up at the landing, including all rigs for fishing for Rockfish. Parking is solid over at Seaforth Landing because 1) It's Free + 2) There's plenty of parking WIN WIN
No problem & thank you for the kind words Frank, much appreciated. The app I primarily use for GPS is called GPS Waypoints Navigator. Very useful when out of cell range, as it runs on satellites
Thank you. Easter Monday Rockfish opener sounds good. Might have to hop on cuz the last time I went fishing was OK & the video was about the same that's why it was never posted. *Passport aquired* Trip announcement coming soon out of Seaforth Landing March 2024 🤙🏼
Yeah my bad for the annoying clicker sound, it's actually not on. That specific model of reel, Avet EXW30-2 makes that clicking sound on the retrieve. The actual clicker is SUPER loud 🔊I'll demonstrate that in the next video. Thanks for the feedback & for checking out the content, tight lines 🤙🏽

Good fishing
Indeed, was my first time fishing down that deep. As soon as it hit the bottom, it was tap tap tap. Thanks for tuning in 🤙🏽
Hell yeah man some good clips nice effects
I miss that
Thanks dawg. Was nice to fish off the boat that normally wakes out the sailboat for a change 😂
What time does the boat leave? That rock cod rig you showed us worked so so or really good?

@@SlaycationFishing Yes I’ll be going. I live in Riverside and love fishing San Diego
@@SlaycationFishing Hos parking there in the morning?
Parking is free & plenty of spots available in the Seaforth lot. There's also parking on the street 🐟 @user-jc4yv7eg7c
@@SlaycationFishing H&M parking can be a nightmare
Hey man I got a question. I’m going out 4/7 on this boat and you showed us the Gavin set up. Did it work good and do they have it at the landing?

@2:20 was that your phone? How’d ya know the location?
App called GPS Waypoint Navigator. I used to use it fishing off the sailboat but now use Navionics to get the bottom detail 🤙🏼
@@SlaycationFishing wow didn’t know you can do that in a cell phone.
Waiting for April so I can get some of those good tasting rockfish.
Yes. You turn on your location on your phone & the GPS apps will work. Some are paid apps but there's a couple good free 1s 🐟
@@SlaycationFishing 4/1 is on a Monday and they haven’t opened up the booking yet but I’ll keep an eye on when then I’ll book. Nice fish you caught.

Why do you leave your clicker on? That’s probably so annoying for everyone else.
