Surprising how many complain about new technology compared to old, but they have to upgrade their cellphone every time a new model comes out; get the latest laptop/tablet; etc. This Mack will still be in one piece long after a Pete or KW has started falling apart. The only truck with durability comparable to a Mack is Western Star. If you dont like the automated trans, dont buy one. Manuals are still offered, but add to the cost. The AMT's are more fuel efficient, and fuel costs have become the number one operating cost for fleets. Gotta save wherever you can. Also, the Mack/Volvo trans is almost 250 lbs lighter than a manual, and weight has really become an issue, with all the emissions equipment that has been added on. Been driving since 1970, and the "good ole days" are now, not back then. The brotherhood was better then, but roads and equipment were pretty pathetic. Believe it or not, cops were more problems then than now. So, if you werent driving 40-50 yrs ago, dont say it was better. 21st century trucking is far better. You've never slept in a sleeper with a bunk only 24 inches wide, couldnt stand up while you dressed, no airride, having to wear coat and gloves while driving in winter. Be thankful for what you have now
berhorst59 My father has been trucking since 1977 when I was 4yrs old along with a dozen other relatives. I'm starting CDL class in two months at a satellite c.c. campus now at 44 yrs ( kids last year of high school) and appreciate your experience and comments.
+berhorst59: I still prefer the 10sp manual over the automated boxes. You'll appreciate the manual boxes if you do construction or need to run in and out of a landfill.
great looking truck. fantastic video (to whom ever made it). i have watched some videos about trucks for sale that have over-kill of redundancy but you hit everything (everything!) that i would want to see from a video and done so smoothly. if a buyer wanted anymore information then what is here then would have to meet in person. again, well done & very nice to see whats out there.
It's a nice looking rig, but the front end looks like a truck that could have been built in 1985. Especially the headlights. I'm surprised anyone even makes headlights like this for a brand new truck in 2016. I still gave the video a like because I love watching your videos. Plus I still liked the rest of the truck. Mack really should update their headlights though. Just my opinion.
that's the problem with you young wet behind the ears, steering wheel holders, these trucks are built to last, not like the plastic junk made today. and the interior is all class. and about the fuel milage , before you speak know what your talking about, they do really good, right up there with those plastic freightliners
BECAUSE OF THE SILVER BULLDOG, IT'S NOT A PUREBRED MACK. ALTHOUGH, I WILL SAY THAT I LIKED THE CAB STYLE BETTER THAN THE NEWER MODELS THAT U SEE ON THE ROADS NOW. I'M ALSO LIKE THE OTHER COMMENTERS, I PREFER A MANUAL TRANSMISSION OVER A AUTOMATIC. IF I EVER BUY A TRUCK, I WOULD LIKE A OLDER ONE BEFORE THE D.E.F REQUIREMENT. LESS CRAP TO GO WRONG AND COST U DOWNTIME AND LOTS OF MONEY.💰💰💰
@@b-trucker7717 my thoughts exactly. If you want a modern bloated looking ugly truck then a get a Crapcadia, Volvo, or a Big and ugly Kenworth t680, (not the good looking Kenworth)......
The biggest problem with a mack is when they do break (and they all do it doesn't matter who the builder is) where are you going to find the dealer and then how long will it take to get the parts. I've had the problem with a western star having to have the parts flown in from one end of the country to where I had broke down. Sitting on a load with the customer is not really a good business idea, your company ends up looking bad as well as yourself and when the customer starts calling another carrier you start getting laid over at truckstops and home time is necessary for all drivers.
How do they manage to still make trucks that look like they were designed 30 years ago? I guess to appeal to those guys who miss the "good ole days"? Even the interior looks 20 years dated, at least. And it looks like they put zero consideration into aero and fuel economy.
Because real truckers like old school styling and they like cool looking trucks, just like Pete guys like their classic trucks, KW guys like their classic trucks, and Western Star Fans love their classic looking trucks. If you want a volvo or a Cascadia go buy one. But leave the good looking trucks alone if you don’t like them, or they don’t look “Futuristic” enough, There’s plenty of other modern looking trucks for you out their. They all look like big bloated rolling condos and have 0 appeal to the drivers
In my opinion the director of this video deserves to be knocked out !!! Only stupids details !!! Where is the truck ? I would like to see also the very truck !!
its a beautifully designed truck, I like the classic look
This could tempt me back into running OTR,always loved Macks and they seem to have a nice classic looking truck here
Holy crap, self canceling turn signals!? I keep forgetting a lot of trucks do not have that. I love that plain and boxy front end.
I sure love this truck, I wish It was mine. This is just what I'm looking for!!!
Best of luck!

berhorst59 too many people romanticising something they were never involved with

It's Macktastic
Uncle Sergei sent me here.
Wow! Welcome to 1986.
lol,but I bet you'd love a Pete or W 900 wouldnt you
still has the old CH-SERIES look in the nose from 1995 and up. I think it's a nice looking truck but not a fan of the automatic transmission.
I love
the first truck l drove was a 77 mack haul diesel to cp train yards. and it's been true ever since
My second job driving I started with a r model mack pulling walking floor and dump for dw transport
still got the early 90s grill
love it

Other than the fresh paint and chrome this thing is a dinosaur
+SS K I'd happily drive this dinosaur if it had a 13 spd.

So I guess in a few years all trucks will be automatics...wonderful. I'll stick with my 13 speed manual.
mack needs to come up with some better storage in their sleepers plus,a shelf for a microwave and a flat screen tv mount!!!
What trek is this?
my dad has a 2016 Mack and the outlets don't even work. the cabin is too small I always hit my head it's annoying
Nice truck, is it still offered with a manual transmission?
some yes
Nice Rig, but that music has to go.
mi tio tiene un 2011 en ese tiempo era del año 😁😊☺
wow mack needs to get with the times the front head lights look sooo 80s
At Least in a year theE wont be all hazed up MAKING THE LIGHTS USELESS AND THE TRUCK LOOK OLD EVEN WHEN NEW.
+Mr.Salty: Mack offers a modern styled truck. This style is for truckers that prefer the old school.
Not everyone wants a shitty volvo for cascadia look🖒

Ok necesito 6 de esos todos del mismo color 😄
Auto😮
Thanks !
Nice Rig...nice interior but not convincing enough being automatic...
Order it with a stick

Holy is this automatic?
sadly yes
Damn such a beautiful truck is a automatic 🤦🏾
140 mph on tacho??? oh my god what a nonsense!
its km
like truccs are becoming automatics now smh
Hmm! Yes awesome video exterior look but the interior tells me that it's not type of truck because it's an automatic. 😐

ZyklonB95 The dash looks like something straight out of a mid 80's Chevy pick up.
Cuz not everybody wants to drive a Volvo

У нстоящего грузовика три педали и настоящий дальнобойщик - остальное туфта. Отвечаю.

Moron drive strikes again same as Volvos idiot shift now that Mack & Volvo are partners
angled pipes are ment to be angled out not straight back looks so stupid,
shut up loser

This is truck came from the past. Are those designers really stupid ? How could anyone bring a truck of 80's design into 2016 ?
Maximus K peterbilts have similar designs since the 60's and nobody says a thing about that
In my opinion the director of this video deserves to be knocked out !!! Only stupids details !!! Where is the truck ? I would like to see also the very truck !!
