No question, one of the BEST Slayer covers ever produced.
Seen Body Count live before I even knew who they were, at a festival a good few years back. It was one of my absolute favourite sets of any festival I've been to, and one of the most epic pits. The moment I looked at the stage properly mid-set and went, loudly and drunkenly, 'Wait, that's f*cking Ice T. What?!' will live on forever in my memory as one of the top brainmelting moments
saw them in 91 at Lollapalooza & yeah everybody was shocked to see ICE-T killing it in a metal band 🤘🏼
That's why iced tea is one of the greatest vocalists in his era. He kills it doing metal. He kills it doing hip hop. He killed it on law and order and he killed it on Rick and Morty. Massive respect for one of the OOGs
@@1rexrex yes.... Looks like talk text strikes again... Speaking of water T just heard Justin royland was cleared of all charges and the case was dropped.. Hopefully he can get his job back
Gotta do more Body Count and some of their original music. It's really good. So many people out there only know him as a rapper but he's been doing Body Count since the early 90's.
Body Count's 'Bloodlust' is one of the most important metal albums of the 2010s. For the love of what is right, check out the video for No Lives Matter!
This was on their 4th album from 2017. He had a lot of interaction with Slayer back in the day because he as well as slayer were produced by Rubin. They would see each other often as they were there on breaks between recordings.
Ice-T put a metal song, called "Body Count", right in the middle of O.G. On a rap album. In 1991. You know how crazy and bold an idea that was for the time? And before that song he says, anyone who only listens to one form of music is a sucka! I started listening to more metal after that and now I'm a bigger metalhead than I ever was a raphead. No doubt Ice-T got hundreds, if not thousands, of little kids into metal the same way. Shout out Jose for finally getting some B.C. on the channel \m/
Guys, you HAVE to listen to "Black Hoodie" by Body Count!!!
Bodycount gets the respect they are due from the metal community. I remember first hearing the first album back in 93 being heavily into Pantera/Sepultura/ Slayer etc and it stands up and holds it own with most that was out at the time. There goes the Neighbourhood, Voodoo, The winner loses are some great tracks. It shows it doesn't matter who or what you are if you do it right the metal community will embrace regardless.
They've done There Goes the Neighborhood

I remember listening to Ice as a teenager but I was in Thrash at the time. Also listened to N.W.A. I freaked out when Ice put together Body Count. They were awesome like Suicidal Tendencies
Morning y'all! Hell yes! That was a great rendition of slayer's song! Very Kool! Glad it was suggested! They did it so good! And I liked the explanation in the beginning from ice-T too. Right on! 🤓❤️🤘🎸
Even better... Bodycount's cover of Institutionalized by Suicidal Tendencies. Ice-T rewrote the lyrics and it's an absolute banger!
Metal is open to everyone!!!!
Rotting Christ - Athanatoi Este
It's about bloody time you covered this. 🤘
I saw Body Count on their first tour, for the album Cop Killer, and they come strong. It was in a small theater, about 500 people, that place was smoking. They were these guys who even set a confederate flag on fire during the song K*K B**ch. If CK or K*K B**tch seems to hard core for youtube to check out the song Strippers, that's a fun song. It's funny I first heard of this album on the news when they were talking about the song CK saying it should be banned. I went to my underground record store and snatched it up. Now if you buy the album CK is replaced by a speech by Jello Biafra, lead singer for the Dead Kennedy's, a early punk band from the 70s.
If you haven't already done it, try out the coop-song(s) Disorder with Ice-T AND Slayer :)
I wouldn't mind if you go down the Body count-rabbit hole, btw :D
Bodycount MANSLAUGHTER is a killer album. Can't go wrong with any song. I recommend TALK SHIT, GET SHOT. Their Suicidal Tendencies cover INSTITUTIONALISED. They also do a brilliant cover of ACE OF SPADES by MOTORHEAD.
That was an incredible cover
Check out "black hoodie" , "point the finger" and the "institutionalized" cover
Great reaction. Suicidal is worth checking out more too.
Absolutely go down the Body Count rabbitt hole. Dude has a ton of respect in the metal community.
I'd love to see you two react to T-Pain's cover of War Pigs by Black Sabbath.
A Body Count song I'd recommend is "No Lives Matter".
Ice-T is respected and accepted everywhere, likea Snoop Dogg
Oh! Talk to Christy C. about bands! Her venue has all sorts of things come through! She may know someone interested 🤔🤔
It's worth a shot anyway lol
Body Count is my favorite band.... Badass band and absolutely thrash....
Ice-T and Slayer recorded song called "Disorder" from Judgement Night OST. This OST was a collaboration between hip-hop artists and metal artists and its best OST there is!
Love body count. Heard them in the late 90’s -early 2000’s with their original track “there goes the neighborhood”. I also enjoyed their cover/remake of suicidal tendencies “institution”
The updated version of Institutionalized is fantastic 🤘
I Always Will Love You is a great song as well...
Dudes, check out Black Hoodie, Talk Shit Get Shot, or All Love Is Lost!
Please react to "Another Body Murdered" by Booya Tribe featuring Mike Patton from Faith no More
Love Body Count!
Seen them live in the early days, 1st Album, at Brixton in London England!
I would've never thought Ice T was a Slayer fan, let alone being in his top 3🤘. Sweet transition to Postmortem at the end.
Great reaction to the og. Keep them them coming
My mind was blown when I heard this. I met Ice-T in New York City where I was working. Coolest down to earth Triple OG you will find randomly. 🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏
Speaking of Damon Albarn, you've already heard one of his bands. He was the founder of and the main musician for Gorillaz. You should check out Blur - Song 2
Great reaction as always boys 🤟🏻
They had made a feat with them in the music of th movie Jugement night ! Huge !
I always tought that Ice -T was cool now this confirme IT this reaction was dope 🤟
I would also love to hear you guys record something with a metal band. I think that would be dope.
I knew if I waited long enough, somebody would come up with Body Count. For us headbangers, BC, Onyx, Living Colour, etc. were not just a breath of fresh air, but a hurricane blast that really didn't last near long enough. Glad to see you youngsters finding your way to this aged classic.
You gotta do Batushka. A Black metal Band who says nothing bad about God.
The 2nd part of the song, the one sung by the other guy is Post Portem.
You guys really do need to go down a body count rabbit hole! They are so hard and if you grew up with rap and hip hop like I did, this was a perfect primer to get into metal. If it weren’t for Ice-T and Body Count, I would have never come to appreciate the pioneers of metal like I do now.
My favorite cover of any song.
They had a huge controversial song banned called Cop Killer around in early 90s
Jose Feliciano is also the name of the guy who sang I Wanna Wish You A Merry Christmas. Also that end part with the other vocalist, that was another Slayer song but I forget which one. That was really cool. Also Slayer is from LA too, of course
Body count have a new album coming later this year. They also won a Grammy for Thier song Bum Rush a couple years ago.
Seems rude not to do the Slayer Ice-T collaboration 'Disorder' from the Judgement Night soundtrack now
Before hardcore was a sub genre Bodycount was considered thrash/death metal. So Smokey is correct.
Dude! I had that Venom album when it was released. Glad to see you wearing it
Alright guys ...you heard Ice T, time to do some more Suicidal Tendencies! Gang banging OG's! Do "Nobody Hears" "Go'n Breakdown" or the melodic "I'll Hate You Better"
Body Count absolutely fucking rules. The first album with Cop Killer and There Goes The Neighborhood is in my top 10 hardcore albums all time
Slayer is so legendary in my opinion they better they my number 1 thrash metal of all time I remember this song now forgot about thank you guys so much
The end is ending of another Slayer's song - Postmortem. Ice T and Slayer perform for OST of Judgement Night song called Disorder which is a three Exploited songs - War, LA'82 and Disorder.
That Acid Bath tee is a reproduction of the cover of the pre-Acid Bath demo tape when they were known as Golgotha.
Body Count's "There Goes the Neighborhood" is fucking cool as hell.
Shout out to the classic Venom shirt
You should check out Body Count’s cover of Suicidal Tendencies’ Institutionalized. The video is pretty funny.
That was cool how they added part of another Slayer song "Postmorten" to the end of the song.
Suicidal Tendencies is from LA.Ice T/Body Count did a cover of 'Institutionalized' by Suicidal Tendencies. It has a very new twist and talks about his own frustration.
Hands down, the best Slayer cover ever. Body Count is a kick ass band. Ernie C is a phenomenal guitarist and Ice T does Tom Araya proud.
Watching this for a third time and suddenly realised that is the Venom t-shirt I got when I was 12. My first ever metal shirt. I was delighted with it. That was in 1987. I am so old!
BODY COUNT RABBIT HOLE FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!
Body Count has been a force since day one and Slayer has been my favorite metal band for 35+ years. But there's something about Slayer covers I never could get into. And I like covers a lot. But when it comes to Slayer, especially Raining Blood, I just can't do it. Until Body Count! This is the first and only Slayer cover I ever felt a band really do it justice. Was so pumped when I saw the notification that you guys were doing this one. Rock on fellas!
You can hear the Black Sabbath influence on their second album (Born Dead) song Masters of Revenge. Check it out.
Fun fact: Kerry King did the guitar rift and solo on Beastie Boys "No Sleep Till Brooklyn". Anthrax too was collaborating with Rap very early in their careers and then of course there was Suicidal Tendencies as Ice T mentioned. Rap and Metal been bro's for a long time ;-)
Good stuff right there. This cover is somewhat new. Like a few years old. And yes you guys should dive into the rabbithole of Body Count.
FUN FACT:
Damon, the singer from Blur is also the founder and singer of the band Gorillaz as well.
Masterpiece!
Ice-T & Body Count
(* Slayer ' cover ')
🤘🏻😸
" DUECES! "
✌🏻😸✌🏻
The acid bath tee though!! Ya need to react to “The Blue” by acid bath! Absolute banger!!
Yes, definitely go down the Body Count rabbit hole!! Their most famous song, Cop Killer, which came in 92', gotta be careful doing that one. Their haven't been many that have or will react to it, because of subject matter. But you guys would be the best ones to do it!! 🤘🤘
Asleep at the wheel. Instutionalized !! Send me your money ST!!!! St!!!! Og punk. Made my day to hear ice -t sending them props.
Had no idea
Know about body count and slayer collaboration. Had no idea he is a fan of ST
AWESOME, keep up the good fight 👍💯
You definitely should check out Slayer & Ice-T 'Disorder' from the Judgement Night Soundtrack (1993).
It's totally badass.!! ♥
Ice-T was also Special Forces in the military. He was a part of the Night Stalkers. Check out MegaDetH, Night Stalkers and Ice-T does a cameo on that song because he and Dave Mustaine, the Singer/Guitarist of that band is really good friends with Ice.
Body count amazing BORN DEAD is amazing 🤟🤟🤟🏴🏴
Holy shit! That was great! I hadn't heard this one. These guys did Tommy A & Co serious respect with this cover!
Duuuuudes how did I miss this???? Bobycount is fantastic and this cover is awesome
When I was 17 I was at a Sunday night all ages dance at a club and I see these ginormous dudes dressed in all black looking like a death squad looking all confused over on the side and I approached them and was like ya'll look confused - they're like we're Body Count we're playing tomorrow night and I was like oh it won't be like this but I've got tickets! I'm so excited !! Body Count BURNED THAT PLACE DOWN it was sick too bad half the songs would get you in trouble on YT
Body Count is a rabbit hole that you should look into deeper! Dive deeper and deeper
Acid Bath. One of the most inspiringly original bands of their time.
Yesss more Body Count please! 😄
Body Count is a great band.
Beautiful ❤️ i try again: Vasco Rossi with c'è chi dice no live Modena Park. There's a fantastic Guitar solo 😉
Bodycount are really very good musicians and I like the Ice-T 🤩👍🤘🔥💋
Body Count have come a long way, they absolutely ripped that.
I still have Cop Killer on tape somewhere around here.
Hat's off to you Ice-T. 🎩📴 Respect.
Looks like they still tour and make music too... I might go see them in Las Vegas is they have any tickets for Sick New World left...
Damon Alburn is the frontman of Blur, who are known internationally for "Song 2" but were a very big deal in the UK in the late 90s. Blur v Oasis was the Britpop war that saw out the decade. Damon is also the creative force behind Gorillaz
Body count in da house, ice T is legend 🔥🤘
Body Count got popular with the song Cop Klller in the 80's. My buddy had there first album on tape. Then they took Cop Killer off the album after the controversy.
Body Count is the real deal and gets respect from the metal community. Dave Mustaine and Ice T have both appeared on each others albums. Check out the Body Count songs Mommas Gotta Die Tonight, The Ski mask Way, and Carnivore. Also, they do a great cover of Suicidal Tendencies Institutionalized.
Not at all surprised, Body count has always been fucking great. I managed to get a copy of cop killer in '92 just before it was banned (not sure if it was ever released here in the UK, but my friend's dad got a vinyl copy from the states) Ernie C is one of the most underrated metal guitarists out there, the newer stuff is chuggy and cool but the first 2 albums (Cop killer and Born Dead) are a bit more old school with some thrashy licks, REALLY fucking good.
This cover is killer‼️‼️‼️🤘♠️🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁🎶🎼🎵🔈🔉🔊🔊🔉🔈💀🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💨💨💨‼️‼️‼️‼️
I really enjoyed this interpretation of the song. Ice-T gets a little growly there in some parts, very cool
❤ their cover of Hendrix's Hey Joe ... suits Body Count perfect ... Hey Joe , where u are going with the gun in your hand?😂
I've never been a Slayer fan - always preferred Sodom, Overkill and Onslaught. Ice T absolutely smashed that though. His guitarist worked with Black Sabbath on the 1995 album, Forbidden. Ice T also featured on a mess of a Black Sabbath track, Illusion Of Power, from said album. Love that Venom shirt btw, that is fucking awesome.
Should check out I'm the man by Anthrax
When Body Count first came out it was criticized due to the song Cop Killer. Most of the people I knew dismissed them as a cash grab. But a few of my friends who are really, really into metal would just say they were really good! The cover of Hey Joe by Hendrix they do is great! So yeah they are the real deal!
@@satanlaffing Yeah it is! The first time I heard it I thought it was Jimi's lol!
Raining Blood and Postmortem 🤘
Brilliant. I missed out on watching them live in 1993 when they came to the UK because I was 8 months pregnant and my partner said he didn't want me to go . He went I had to stay home 😢
It's actually really sweet that Ice-T started a metal band because his friend likes to play guitar.
Sweet T (Tea) 😃
Makin homies dreams come true is metalness
Body Count cover Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe
Ernie Mother F**kin' C
