From America. thank you for the excellent tutorial. It helps to get a fresh perspective from some one talented as you. This really helped me and I love the voicings. Fagen and Becker always throw in the "Moo chords". Anyway, In my group I plan to suggest that we use some of this in a latin style as that is how I feel some of the chords you are using inspired me to play some one of the sections. Have a great day!
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. I am pleased to hear you find this tutorial inspiring for a latin-style version. Sounds to me like it could work really well. Best of luck my friend.
Great video! When I clicked on this I thought it was going to be the usual approximation of the chords, but you totally nailed it! Many thanks for the chord chart too😀🎹
Oh man, sounds great. Thank you VERY MUCH for this tutorial! By the way, I must say my first (native) language is NOT english. I'm from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Balkans.
Hi Sanel, thank you so much for your kind comments. It really means a lot. And as for your English, well, it is better than many English people I know. There are no mistakes and, if you really want to, you could pass for an English man. :-)
I’ve always thought it was very cool for Becker & Fagen to give Paul Griffin a co-writing credit for coming up with that melody that the string synth plays.
I never knew that. I do think session musicians ought to be given writing credits more often. A good session player is usually worth way more than a session fee!
@@thekeyboarddepfunctionroom6520 Yeah, have you heard about Greg Phillinganes and Michael Jackson? Greg came up with the bridge in "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough," and MJ agreed to give him a writing credit (and thus a cut of the royalties), but when the contract was presented to him, it had no writing credit, just a fee for arranging. Greg wasn't happy, but wisely decided it would be best not to jeopardize his chance to work with MJ in the future, so he signed it.
Norwegian Steely Dan enthusiast. Great video! This was really inspirational and motivating. Keep up the good work. Do you know where I can access this backing track? (With vocals)
Thank you so much. I've been playing keys all my life and still find steely hard to figure out. The songbooks are horrible except for Goucho. Donald Fagan should create transcripts of his music.
@@thekeyboarddepfunctionroom6520 you make that solo look too easy, haha. Keep up the good work man, you’re leagues above the rest! So far I’ve gotten everything down except the solo

Thanks for your comments. I am simply playing over an mp3 format of the original recording. Hope that helps.

Awesome video. I know what I’m watching for the next couple weeks lol
