I know that Douma does not love Kotoha but he cared enough to keep her alive. there was mistranslation in the manga when he said he kept around because she was pretty. The real translation was that Douma kept her around because of her pure heart.

Fun fact: Genya doesn't have a breathing form so he consumes demons to get their strength Temporarily so if he were to eat Akaza for example, he'd be much stronger and maybe be able to regenerate ( ? ) but his strength would still probably be weaker then Akaza's actual strength. So in shorter terms, he'd just gain some abilities demons have. :}

Like, if Genya ate Rui’s things or a lock of his hair, then he would turn into a demon. Granted, he would be weaker than Rui but stronger than the average demon
