I'm so glad that they did this free update instead of creating a new stuff pack or kit about manicure!
Yup! I was scared that it would be a kit, but I think the pack refreshes are so nice! Could definitely be a game changer future

To be fair, they don’t live as long as we do. So I guess that’s why.
But it would be better if it stayed on for 48 hours instead. 🤔

To add to the other reply, it also depends on where the polish is and what activities you regularly do. For example, my fairly cheap polish stayed on my toes for weeks because it was protected by shoes. Meanwhile, I do a lot of lifting with my hands and the gel polish on my fingers started chipping the first workday. My sister got a very similar manicure and did mostly desk work, so hers lasted much longer.
Ideally polish will last several days at least. I've been wearing my current self-applied polish for a couple weeks and it's probably 50% intact now.
EA remember that they can still making money with old packs.
Yet it’s much better for EA to go back and “fix” some of the previous packs’ issues/complaints
welp, if is quality content that actually improves i guess they deserve it, saying as EA hater myself
tbf i already owned it and it's slightly better than making a new kit/stuff pack about pedicures and manicures

@@carysk4083 sometimes that instead. There's so many weird vampire legends. Like if a grave has been there for a certain time, and a predator like a dog or a cat jump over it, the buried person becomes a vampire.

EA is on the right path. More people will now buy the spa pack because it is not as sad as it used to be
I tbh hated Spa Day before, I thought it was more of a stuff pack than game pack but this update makes me really want it
Kind of feels like most of these new features should have been in the original pack, though.

I honestly love they gave the color likes and dislikes a little bit of depth with the nails thing... NOW, do it with gifts and I will be happy!
For anyone who's struggling to add fingernails to mermaids:
When you're making the mermaid form, have all the accessories listed at once and remove all the outfit tags, the nails should show up at the bottom. :)

I hope they improve that and Get To Work! Also, we should get to fix up the movie studio in Get Famous in B/B and it stays that way.

Get to Work needs it even more to be honest: expanding to world to actually look like an expansion pack people want to get, alien skill tree, either adding more depth to the new careers and locations (being able to check in, be a patient in a hospital and calling an ambulance in services, being arrested for shoplifting in retail, robbing houses or hacking private files and confiscating electronics as a detective, volunteering as a science experiment) or adding new active mode from base game if you have get to work (writer, business and videogame in a office lot) and retail system bug fixes. Plus a free base game patch for multipurpose lots enabling you to have a residence above or bellow your entrepreneurial business (retail/restaurant/vet clinic) or having community lots have multiple attribution (gymn + pool lot).

unfortunately sims with feminine frames can't wear nail polish if they dress masculine bc it tries to give your sim the masc nails which cuts off part of the middle finger, hopefully they fix that soon😔
also I experienced a glitch with nail polish in kids! the side of their shirt will turn the color of the nail polish
I don't know if it's just my game or not, but when I tried to get two of my males Sims a manicure from the spa, they would go through the action but at the end their nails were the same (non existent). Don't know if it's because they're males or not but was really annoying. 😑 Hopefully it gets fixed.

Either I'm high maintenance, or those "moodlets" are normal, because I relate to them all XD.
OK just so you know, for most female players, getting her nails to match her outfit is actually a great feature! :-) And it makes sense for the nails to vanish in 24 hours. If we use pregnancy as the common reference for realworld and simsworld, 72 hours equals 9 months, so 24 hours equals 3 months. In reality nails are re-done every 2 to 3 weeks, so "3 months" on one manicure is pretty good :-)

A new bug has shown up in the neighborhood called Grims Quarry from the Eco lifestyle pack. Chunks of the world is missing when you go to that neighborhood, at least that has been the case for me.
I have had that a while ago.
It kinda looks like an old unfinished game right? Like Minecraft style set dressing or something...

It happens to me too! I recently bought Eco Lifestyle so I thought that it might be a problem of the installation, but I see that it isn't. It's like there were missing some textures in the neighborhood
Oh no, I haven't seen checked that. Scared to look now. Also, I've noticed some new and old bugs after the update.
Did you try repairing your game? A few of my neighborhoods had that missing parts issue but a couple repairs fixed it quickly
Oh man now I have to watch out for CC updates to all my nail set mods.. can't wait to be able to find nails that don't replace my bracelets.

This refresh really brings the emotion system to use. So funny, that they get all these different things to complain about. I hope they do this with all the personality traits, so Sims get individual things to be annoyed about.
Maybe this is asking for too much but it would have been so cool if they added a nail tech career.
As a real nail tech, I want this so bad in the game !
They better add leaving lot and elevator animation in City Living next.
I can make little more realistic sims with the new toe and finger nails without using CC finally!
Great video. Goes over all the features well. Though two things: yoga classes can also take place in gyms (before update) and massage therapists have also been in since pack's release. Though despite those two insignificant details, I enjoyed the video and learned something new.

Whoa never knew they did pack refresh too! Also its really weird that the nails only last for 24 hours when in reality it can last for weeks lol
To be fair, their 24 hours is kind of like a few weeks. I mean, the longest weather span in the game is only 28 days, so I guess 1 month is our 3 months. 🤔

I mostly care about the last bit, the autonomous admiring of decor... My sim ALWAYS woke up at night, just to admire a toilet cuz it was BASIC DECOR.

I'm still pissed that Mermaids can't have nails.
Like, they have hands, I understand, and it's quite obvious why, not having toe nails but why they can't let me put fingernails in mermaids when they transform? That's so sad honesty. And nobody talked about it :/
I hadn't noticed. Damn, that sucks. Seems like an oversight from the developers more than done on purpose. You're right, why wouldn't they be able to have nails when they're got hands in the sea form? 🤔 Hopefully it will be resolved by them (probably not tho 🙄)

Oh, they did report about this on the bug forum. And you can add them, but there's a trick to it: if you go to the accessories top category (having all accessories listed) and remove all the tags, the nails should show up!
Hopefully they'll add the nails to show up normally for merfolk
@@cupio-stardust nail polish doesn't wash off in water, or else way less people would be washing their hands. it's what makes it different than just using paint or a marker. however, it does last shorter than it could if it's in water for some time. still, mermaids should have nails.

For the facial masks. Not only you could get them from the new Spa Day mini-fridge. You could also get it by ordering on the computer.

Great in-depth coverage on the patch!!! The most in-depth I’ve seen by far. Just a question though, kids can’t make money from doing yoga classes and such? Pretty sure they said they were supposed to be able to in the livestream
I thought that too. I was hoping to try a Rags to Riches where only the kids earn the money. I've not yet tested it out, as I'm still working on building a Spa.

Maybe it was their intent to add that capability and it’ll be fixed next patch? Stuff like that has happened a few times
I put orange nails on one of my sims and the overlaping texture happened on her black dress and it actually looks so dope with that orange strip on the side. I didn't noticed it glithes on so many different outfits though, I guess not really on the ones I use recently.

Omg those facial masks are op. Reduces age? Allows vampires to walk in sun?
Allowing vampires to walk in the sun is pretty cool, but it would make more sense if it were a full body soak. It helps that it's only temporary, so you can have your vampire friends attend a daytime event without needing to give them sun immunity.
I've gotta see how regular the age reduction is because that is absolutely OP.

You'd think they would have added that in Get Famous or Get Together. 🙁 Being able to make an actual band that gets paid for it (not just having to create a music club and pretend it's a band) would be heckin' awesome!

I’ve always wanted a mod, pack, or updates for music/bands, because I play trombone myself, I think there’s so many capabilities. Bands as a career/way to make Simoleons, marching bands and school bands, maybe some type of concerts (would be good for singing sims too), a lot of new instruments, overhaul to playing and writing songs, etc. would all be really cool features

They're informative, usually pretty thorough and quickly get to the point.
The high maintenance trait seems like it would get annoying really fast
Yeah, sometimes you just want to play a storyline or build and not have your sim do a lot of tedious stuff in the game.
I believe they think they're adding gameplay depth this way. 😁 Instead, they just add to the annoying emotions system.

I forget about the sims and then a great update is added to one of my owned DLCs to make me want to play again.
I'm glad the devs are refreshing previous packs and I like this update because it's one of my least used packs gameplay-wise. But man...there are so many bugs that revolve around the nails. It's like they released a half-done update :/

Say, do you have any insight to share about how to complete the new aspirations? I watched lilsimsie's "Can you get rich running a spa in The Sims 4?" video and she wasn't able to complete the Self-care Specialist's "Maintain a regular customer" step, despite doing interactions with the same sim over and over. What I felt when playing with these aspirations is that they are not as easy to cheat, but this is more like an impression rather than a tested theory of mine, because I told my sim to smell an incense that already counted towards the Inner Peace aspiration and it didn't add anything.
Thinking about restarting sims, i have never played sims 4 and its been around 15 year since i last played sims 3, that is how i found your videos ❤
Go ahead and try it to see if you like it! The base game of The Sims 4 is now free to play on Steam or EA App, but you still need to buy the packs though.
