+gimilkhad16 All words are really german. :) Some of them with a heavy accent but its pretty accurate. There are some common mistakes. We have three words (Der, Die, Das) for the english word "the". Not perfect but really good if you don't really speak a language.

May I ask you question? Meine Deutsch Lehrer said I pronounce it funny. If I say it wrong which way is less irritating for Germans to hear: Ich - should I say "ick" or "eesh"? Apparently I an unable to say it correctly and tired of hearing jokes from everybody. I practice but it still comes out funny to people - people who are native English speakers but are long time fluent in Deutsch.
it's neither, the pronunciation is unique, you should go look for a German video and find it

The pronunciation is not unique. 'Ich' is pronounced as in 'fish' and in general the German -ich is similar to the English -ish (not -ick or -eesh)
no, it does not sound lick ish, the sh sound is not really there, but it's also not like the dutch G, it's like a softer G.
in the ish version, your tongue is in the wrong place.

(Also hi from USA! I'm 75% Polish (Mom immigrated from Poland, and Dad's mother was Polish too) and I loved visiting my family there. And I was practically treated like family even by people I just met. People aren't fake-polite there like in the USA, just straightforward and honest. At least all the ones I interacted with in Gdańsk, Koszalin, Podborsko, Łódź... and I even went to Hel and back, lol! I can't wait to visit again. ^_^)

@@leks5411 , Heh, well there ARE good aspects to living in the U.S., but they come at a price. Any savings you bring with you will be worth almost nothing, due to how much more expensive food and other needs are here. Way too many of us have to work 2-4 jobs to make ends meet. No humane limits on forced overtime here, many jobs can legally expect you to work 80+ hours/week or they can fire you.
And paid vacations long enough to actually relax AND have fun?! Here that's almost as rare as a unicorn. Most jobs won't even let you have vacation at all unless you've devoted 5 or more years to working there, it's usually unpaid, might be only between 2 days to one week once a year... And most of THOSE you can only get if you've NEVER missed a day of work, otherwise those days are taken away from your vacation days. And if you get sick? Majority of places limit you to 3 sick days per year, or you're fired. Even though it takes WAY longer than that to recover from the flu and whatnot. They often require you to have a doctor's note to prove you were sick, but doctors hate that waste of their time, and that visit can cost TWICE as much as the money you would have made for those three days (and it usually takes MONTHS of waiting to see a doctor, so what, PREDICT when you'll get sick?). So you'd lose both the pay for those three days (because yes, most sick days are UNPAID!), AND twice that again for the doctor visit.
So even if you've got a very contagious illness, you'd better still come in, suffer miserably, and get all the customers sick from you preparing their food or scanning their groceries.
(And this has continued with the Coronavirus; corporate profits are more important than people's lives, so the country "reopened" while daily infection numbers were still ridiculously high, and it's skyrocketing still because no further measures were taken to protect us. We either had to return to work and risk getting/spreading Covid-19, or starve/lose our homes. We're just cogs in the machines that make the rich richer, not valued as human beings with lives to live.
...**Ahem!**... But at least you can have guns to protect yourself from all the other people who have guns to protect themselves from all the other people who have guns~! 😅
And there's no blasphemy laws, though one political party is practically trying to make that a thing. And oh yeah, you only get to choose from two political parties when you vote because 3rd-party candidates have zero chance of winning, so in most elections you can only choose the lesser of two evils.
There's also a lot less small, local businesses in most areas, almost all just huge corporations like Walmart, McDonald's, etc. Though you CAN find areas where independent businesses flourish (Though they did NOT receive much aid for surviving Covid-19, and since the pandemic has dragged on so long without reprieve, so many of them are gone now... 😞).
Uhhh I was trying to think of more good points than bad, but... Overall, we're depressed people who eat junk food because it's all we can afford (and it helps us cope with our stress), are so overworked we have no energy to be creative or exercise, so we binge-watch Netflix for desperately-needed entertainment to feel a little bit human, until we pass out on the couch for 4 hours of sleep before our next work shift, drinking highly-caffeinated energy drinks several times a day so we can stay awake at work and not wreck our cars, and unable to afford to see a doctor for our mounting health problems like suspected cancer until it's too late to do anything about it, with many sufferers opting AGAINST life-saving treatment because they don't want to leave their families with a huge financial debt. Literally leaving them without a beloved relative in exchange for avoiding (further) poverty. 😰
