While setting up my new native fish aquarium, my fish tank breaks! This was so frustrating and the last thing I wanted to do was move my expensive fish to a new tank while filming this video.... at least the native fish aquarium still looks alright!

3:01 I have the coolest juvenile long ear sunfish in a 29 . he is so personable .he eats flakes just fine , but I feed him red wigglers and he eats them from my hand .
he is the prettiest fish I have in all 9 tanks.
Sunfish in general just make incredible pets! Just like you said.... personable, eat just about anything, and can become very comfortable with you as the owner! Love to hear it man!

Mannn.... remember when I said "when it rains it pours?!" I never had any success with those Walleye. I think I just had a small, skinny batch and they never bounced back. Then that Pickerel messed up his jaw a long time ago and he just lost his ability to eat... he passed the other day.
I have a few ideas to replace them all though! Don't you worry!
@@SCFishKeeping my walleye didn’t want to eat after several days in the tank. They don’t exactly seem like ideal aquarium fish.

Good see see you posting again! I still need to check out that bait shop and find some new pets lol. Those fish you got that we’re in the chub tank I think look like small white suckers, hopefully they live and get huge and can go in your pool pond! and that sucks that tank leaked, I have had a couple tanks leak but nothing big and I resealed them. But wait wasn’t that the tank where you had peacock bass? What happened to them? Have you ever thought about keeping rainbow trout? I actually tried keeping 2 and they lived a couple weeks and they were eating pellets, they were stocked rainbows, they randomly died but I’m guessing maybe because their mouths were a little messed up from being hooked. I might try again and see if they live and try using a barbless hook and keep them in a bigger tank alone and have lots of current and keep it cold! Your videos always make me want more fish lol, I want to build up my native collection, I like going out and catching my fish rather than buying them it’s more fun, I always make sure to follow all the regulations and limits and everything, I really want a pair of crappie and see if I can spawn them in a tank setup like where they spawn with a brush pile in the tank it would be cool to watch them raise fry and in the tank!

I usually hold my comment to the very end. But just a small warning. Those crayfish are amazing but if you see that they have eggs, separate them immediately. I am sure you already knew this but they will mess your filters up. And that is one beautiful baby.

You should keep a bowfin! They are super aggressive and cool looking fish!
Yes they are, we have a 7 inch one growing out, he's a stud.

great tank but that isnt a creek chub, creek chubs usually have large mouths with a dark line running down the middle. that fish is definitely a type of sucker fish.

I have rock bass in my 55 gallon but its still a baby small rock bass and baby small hybrid the sunfish mix with blue gill there are tiny baby fishes but they eat blood worms there in 55 gallon

What do you feed the sunfish?
Love green sunfish when I first got into the hobby I had caught a couple green sunfish and planned on keeping them as pets unfortunately when I woke up they had passed😞

Firemouth are awesome fish! Had a few in the past. I'd say something in the sunfish family would be my comparable.... check out the Dollar Sunfish!
You should do a Redeye Bass tank. I don't know if you can get your hands on Redeye bass, also called Coosa Bass. They are a smaller Bass species that live in Georgia. That would be a very cool tank. I want to do one but don't know if I can get my hands on one.
And now I will be doing an incredible amount of research on what that type of Bass is and seeing if I know anyone in Georgia! lol. Appreciate the suggestion buddy!
@@SCFishKeeping You think Upscale Aquatics can get their hands on a Red Eye Bass? You should check out a UA-cam channel called Creek Fishing Adventures. This is how I found out about this type of bass. Since Red Eye Bass live in streamsis there a way to make a tank flow like a stream?

I'd say a warmouth, we have a big 9 inch one in with a 10 inch pickerel, highly aggressive and beautiful.

I had a small group of Warmouth for awhile! They were awesome! Unfortunately they had some sort of fungus and I couldn't save them. I'll have to track down some more!

I think native fish do need more exposure, I'm trying with my channel which is all natives, including pickerel and bowfin. We collect or catch most of our and also try to keep heavily live planted tanks, let's keep natives on people's minds.👍

A mean mouth is a great native fish and a rarish hybrid, I don't think anyone has one.
I've looked into those before and they sound like they'd be awesome to keep if I could find them!

Beware of columnaris from bait shop fish. if you treat for this when you get them it will save you alot of grief.
Too bas all the bait shops I've ever been to in every state I've lived in have never had anything other your standard fathead, rosey red, shiner, and sucker minnows
