Quartera is lovely. As a 78 year old globetrotter and canadian snow bird spending winters in lovely Portugal I enjoyed Quartera so much. I stayed in great hostel and cook my own food. Met people from all over the world. Pure joy.
The fish markets are so interesting to walk around they do Bacalau three different ways and a vegetarian version . We have had it here in the Algarve and also in Terceira all delicious 😋 enjoy your day Cheers Norm and Tina 👍🍺🍷
I did that walk in October and really enjoyed it. I went a bit further on the 🏖 and made it to Vale do Lobo which was a golfers paradise. Really enjoyed the vlog it brought back happy memories. Thank you

I bought a place at Vila Sol a year ago. Quarteira is a lovely, authentically Portuguese resort town. NY Eve fireworks are brill. Love watching the sun go down with a beer in one of the bars on the front. If you kept walking at “the end” you’d arrive at BJs Oceanside after 5 mins or so. Wonderful place for lunch. Nice vid. Hi Ian, We agree about Quarteira and it was the first resort town of The Algarve, the seafront is a great walk. We need to find a new town to go to, we had thought about Alvor or Quarteira. @@ianashton1226 We drove past through and hadn’t researched it and thought if just a big town as we saw a large mall on the main highway through town, we were on our way to Tavira and Santa Luzia which we liked a lot. We did look up Olhao later and saw it looked very nice. Thanks for the recommendation.
We love Quarteira - my husband, son and I stayed there in the summer of 2012. We rented a wonderful apartment on the beach for a week . My son was 6 at the time and every night they brought out a huge jumping castle for the kids that was right beside our building. We had a hard time trying to get him out. Lol. We are looking forward to the day we can return to the area. Hope you are having a good weekend.
We are having a mix of rain and snow here in Canada hovering around zero centigrade, hope the sun comes back soon for you, we had a nice walk in the woods yesterday.
On our first time in the Algarve, we stayed in Carvoeiro. We'd arranged to stay in Quarteira next, but we didn't care for the town or the hotel and QUICKLY moved to the "Tivoli Marina Hotel" in Vilamoura. The Tivoli was about $230 per night (last minute booking) for a balcony with a marina view. The area is beautiful and vibrant, and we highly recommend the "Il Lamparo" and the "Ostra d'Oura" restaurantes.
We thought Vilamoura was a little too “manufactured” or touristy and expensive, but it is a very nice place, we walked past The Tivoli. We are glad you enjoyed it.
I have read that Algarve ( Of Portugal ) is one of the cities favorite of european tourism. The foreigners are investing many money here for permanent residence or vacation. Thanks for sharing !!!

Great video guys. I have been there a few times and like it because it's a quiet family resort. One of its biggest features thought is it's all on the flat.That is rare to find on the western Algarve as usually there are hills and multiple steps to access the beaches.
You are right it is flat and that’s why we wanted to tell people that struggle with mobility issues. Thanks so much watching and making a great comment.

Thank you, the weather is great has been between 15° to 22°C since we have been here. The beaches are empty, still a little cool, we like that it is off season and quiet and that there is no snow!! lol.

Beautiful place to stay. More big blue skies and sandy beaches. Have you been to Madeira the Portuguese island ? We visited and stayed in a villa a few years ago and with car hire, driving the island for a week is a real adventure through dozens of road tunnels and up and down the mountains. Hi Trev, Yes we have been to Madeira prior to our UA-cam vlog, we have also been to Tenerife and Gran Canaria all beautiful islands and great weather! We also liked the Azore Islands having been to Terceira and Sao Miguel another 7 islands to complete the set lol. Have a great day!
Our favourite Canary Island is Lanzarote. We have been a number of times and we love the fact that there are no high rise buildings at all. It’s actually against the local planning laws there. The trip up Mount Timafaya is worth it too. Definitely recommend at any time of year but we go October to March. 😉 Trev

We are staying about 15 mins away by car , there are not a lot of tourists at this time of year . The busy season is May to September when here is incredibly hot and busy. It’s a nice time of year now to visit Cheers👍🍷🍺😎
Gorgeous day, Tina and Norm. One of the (many) things I love about Portugal are the Azulejos. Not only are they incredibly beautiful but also charming. It doesn’t matter if it is a grand train station, an incredible igreja ⛪️, the side of a mason wall on the side of a road... or by the front door of a simple home... they always make me smile 😊. T apparently is the type of appartment and the number is the amount of main room not including kitchen and bathroom , so a T3 is main living room and two bedrooms (don’t buy a place based on our advice )(LOL) 😂
Hi 👋🏻 I was curious about this before living in Portugal. You see T0, T1, T2, etc, used in all adverts but initially it’s supposed be T for apartments and V for houses (Villas). Now the seem to use T+# for houses too. And it IS the number of bedrooms. So, a T0 is a bachelor/studio... no separate bedroom. I hope that helps 🤗

That is difficult because they all have their own charm, we do like Lagos. We chose Albufeira as our base because it is in the middle of The Algarve making traveling throughout The Algarve easy. We are also there for the winter which is very different to summer, less traffic and crowds.
TFW we don’t think so as Portugal 🇵🇹 is very child friendly , but if you walk along the beaches there are always areas that are desserted , have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🍺🙂

Love Quarteira. When we stay in Vilamoura we regularly walk over to Quarteira. Some lovely little shops and less expensive than Vilamoura.

Beautiful place to stay. More big blue skies and sandy beaches. Have you been to Madeira the Portuguese island ? We visited and stayed in a villa a few years ago and with car hire, driving the island for a week is a real adventure through dozens of road tunnels and up and down the mountains. Hi Trev, Yes we have been to Madeira prior to our UA-cam vlog, we have also been to Tenerife and Gran Canaria all beautiful islands and great weather! We also liked the Azore Islands having been to Terceira and Sao Miguel another 7 islands to complete the set lol. Have a great day!
Our favourite Canary Island is Lanzarote. We have been a number of times and we love the fact that there are no high rise buildings at all. It’s actually against the local planning laws there. The trip up Mount Timafaya is worth it too. Definitely recommend at any time of year but we go October to March. 😉 Trev

Hi you two, looks spectacular that beach was awesome not very many people on it and yes goes forever. The market looks great at least you can buy fresh fish not all frozen from China! Are you staying close to the area? It looks so quite what is the tourist season months in Quarteira? Thank for sharing, so you are not missing the snow or the rain ..lol Have fun be safe :))
We are staying about 15 mins away by car , there are not a lot of tourists at this time of year . The busy season is May to September when here is incredibly hot and busy. It’s a nice time of year now to visit Cheers👍🍷🍺😎

Gorgeous day, Tina and Norm. One of the (many) things I love about Portugal are the Azulejos. Not only are they incredibly beautiful but also charming. It doesn’t matter if it is a grand train station, an incredible igreja ⛪️, the side of a mason wall on the side of a road... or by the front door of a simple home... they always make me smile 😊.

I didn't know anything about that T1, T2, T3 thing. I wonder what the T stands for? Bedroom is 'quarto' as far as I'm aware.
T apparently is the type of appartment and the number is the amount of main room not including kitchen and bathroom , so a T3 is main living room and two bedrooms (don’t buy a place based on our advice )(LOL) 😂
Hi 👋🏻 I was curious about this before living in Portugal. You see T0, T1, T2, etc, used in all adverts but initially it’s supposed be T for apartments and V for houses (Villas). Now the seem to use T+# for houses too.
And it IS the number of bedrooms. So, a T0 is a bachelor/studio... no separate bedroom. I hope that helps 🤗

What is your favorite town in the Algarve and why?
That is difficult because they all have their own charm, we do like Lagos. We chose Albufeira as our base because it is in the middle of The Algarve making traveling throughout The Algarve easy. We are also there for the winter which is very different to summer, less traffic and crowds.
Noisy kids ruin everything. Are there any sandy beaches in the Algarve that are child-FREE??
TFW we don’t think so as Portugal 🇵🇹 is very child friendly , but if you walk along the beaches there are always areas that are desserted , have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🍺🙂
