It also says the first thirteen colonies to be known as Territory of Cuba part Asia. My point is why United States doesn't mention this ? When Cuba financed the battle of York town. When Cuba has the secrets and knowledge of this region. America has always been America. AmeruKhan. The Ham . The Land of Ahkenaten. The proof of Ptah is in Utah. The Lord is Eshu-eleggua. The Holy Son of Atocha. Amerigo is the merchant that introduced Pasta to Italians with gun powder .

Map back then useful to know nations to trade or colonize and especially the uncharted lands.
And also to know their territory border.

The Book of General Ignorance, published in 2007 or 2008 (I'm depending on my memory here, so forgive me if I'm wrong) goes into this and argues convincingly that America was not named after Amerigo. Instead they put forward Richard Ameryk (once again, working from memory). I had never heard of the companion book with the famous Waldseemuller Map. Interesting, and thank you.

İ have read that book too. One of the reasons for the doubt is Amerigo is the name of the explorer, not his surname. But it is usually explorer's surname given to a newly found land

In almost every single language, "America" refers to a single country. It's only Spanish that makes any attempt in casual speech to differentiate the word.
Also, why would you WANT to be called American? That word's got a lot of negative connotations.

I think about 2-3 Amèricas as geographic names:
N, S and central/Caribe, but Mexico is NA.
From Alaska to Patagonia it's all America
Then USA or EUA, in Spanish. I don't say I'm European, I say I'm catalan, my passport is Spanish.
Looking a mapamundi, Europe is like a peninsula of Asia and Mediterranean is a big salt lake between Africa and Europe

Over in the canon there is information n maps there ahowing that the United States was 1st r was know as The Virginia. The whole area b4 it became the US of America.
Even now there in Washington DC that area is truly not part of the USA. Its more like a territory like the virgin islands n allnthe territory that people sail off to without a passport.
Thats why they changed the birth certificates n started using all caps. Washington DC became a business! Children born back be4 late 80's the names start with a cap ... 1st middle n last on both child n parents. Now days all letters are capped!!! If you know anything about ENGLISH and had paid attention in class all this has a meaning!
They knew what they were doing back then. Oh the webs they weave.
Things are not taught as back when i was in school or my children were! They never taught us about it being called The Virginia. I found that very interesting. Has anyone else ever learned of this? I also remember the old maps that use to b in class rooms that we thought were ancient. They had seamonsters n other things huge fish n all on them. I thinknrhey were there cause they actual had encountets with this kinda atuff.
    Anyway enjoyedbthe information! Thank you.

Columbus had no idea where he was going when he traveled to the new world. He had no idea where he was when he arrived. Hence the name "Indians" for the people he found there. He thought he was in India. He had no no idea where he had been when he went back to his sponsoring country.

Columbus spent most of his life refusing the the idea that he founded a new nation and he was on islands near the far east where he could profitably trade. Otherwise his benefactors in Europe would get nervous whether they would payback for the costs of columbus's voyages. So it think its fair the continents are named for someone else.

Columbus was lost. Amerigo Vespucci was a late comer. Kings Arthur II and Prince Mardoc was here in the sixth century and were killed by native Indians in the region of Southern Indiana / Kentucky. Arthur was embalmed, wrapped in linen and deer skins and taken back to Wales. Prince Mardoc was buried in a burial mound that was later excavated and the Smithsonian is supposed to have some of his bones. But beyond that who discovered what? The Cherokee nation was highly developed among the other native tribes. You can’t discover anything that already is. 😂
