If you are not able to make it for 15 August, there are other festivals in Ikaria where the music and dance will be played also. This is where Ikaros landed when he fell from the Sky because he flew very close to the sun and his wings melted according to the legend. The dance and the music are called Ikariotikos (or Ikariotiko) and there are three versions of the music and dance, The two versions of the have lyrics and one version is instrumental music. The croup is called Musicaria (Music and Ikaria) and the violin playeris named Nikos Fakaros ... LOL! Best to join a dance group and learn how to dance the Ikariotikos dance first before you go there. Ένα ξεχωριστό μπράβο όμως αξίζει σε τρεις - τέσσερις κοπέλες (στις 3 με τα μαύρα μακριά μαλλιά και στην μία με τα γκριζόξανθα) οι οποίες κατά τη γνώμη μου θ' αφήσουν το σημάδι τους στον Ικαριώτικο (ιδιαίτερα μετά το 2,28, συντονισμός, σκέρτσο, πρωτοτυπία, κέφι, ζωντάνια και ομορφιά) ως μεγάλες χορεύτριες και ακόμα πιο ιδιαίτερα στις δυο από τις κοπέλες που αγκαλιάζονται στο τέλος του χορού). Αυτό ακριβώς είναι "παράδοση". Πρέπει να είστε ευτυχείς που την βιώνετε μέσα από το χορό σας και το χορό αυτών των κοπελούδων...Μπράβο στις κοπέλες και σε όλους σας...
