This was an amazingly informative video! Thanks for taking the time to upload it. I'll be on the watch for more like this in the future!

Very nice video Larry! Vaughan Ranch also has a fun ski-jump on the North end, 70ft higher on the North end vs the South end. I found it very fun taking off there, always to the South no matter the wind. For those wondering, Vaughan Ranch is also a private airstrip requiring permission to land there.

How long were the strips you landed at?

Hey man, like ur videos a lot! Question ... at 1:59 you make the turn left from base to final using rudder, to avoid changing the wing profile at very low speed, am I correct? it seems as if you make yoke inputs only to keep the wings leveled and maintain AOA.

Well flown. What is the gizmo on the combing just to the left of your wet compass?

So is that beeping sound the stall warning? Like, basically sitting right at stall speed all the way down on the approach? And at rotation? That's some badassery.

Is the beeping your AOA indicator or stall?

Frustrating for you not to give any details of the airstrips, such as location and if they are public/private use.

All are private and owners don't want me to share their locations, sorry.

Would any of those ski jumps happen to be Dick’s place?

So this guy in the above video just violated the same thing Trent Palmer was accused of by the FAA. Right? He should have landed no matter what the danger was and despite what the FAA manual said about "off-airport landings" and presumably the ICAO standards as well. So any pilot who decides to make an off-airport landing is automatically at risk of violating the "reasonable care" standard of the FAA regulations, and thus the ICAO standards as well if he decides to go around, correct? Go ahead and review Trent Palmer's video where he decided to go around at his friend's personal property. The FAA accused him of buzzing. His license is presently under investigation. What say you, Bachcounty182 Pilot? Just wondering?

You probably are referring to the 170B that do a go around in the video, in this case there was no people close to him so no violation, but off airport operations as a pilot you should be able to go around if you don't like what you see, its crazy if that becomes illegal.

@@motoadveBackcountry182 I agree with you. But a neighbor of the landing area used her cell phone to show that Trent Palmer was making a low pass safety inspection before he decided not to land due to unsafe conditions on the ground. The FAA ruled he was "careless" and violated the 500 ft rule. The NTSB rubber-stamped the FAA's decision. As a lawyer, I do not understand why Trent's lawyer did not use the newer "Pilot's bill of Rights" and have a jury trial instead of the usual FAA/NTSB rubber stamp. I was not criticizing your video, I was using it as an example of the hyprocracy of the FAA who even published a book on how to do "Off Airport Landings and Takeoffs".
Thank you for taking notice. Maybe you can use your clout to intervene in his case. See Trent Palmer's video on YT and maybe you can make a comment.
      Stay Safe. DPA

@@motoadveBackcountry182 I think that was Jughead in the 172B right? Wise not to land on that angled side bank.
