I have literally been telling everyone since seeing Good Time, The Devil All the Time and The Rover that Pattinson is absolutely the best actor of our generation. Tenet is amazing, too. Lighthouse was so-so to me... but man, he's such a good actor.
some other really interesting Robert Pattinson movies not said in the episode/the comments - Damsel, Water For Elephants, Waiting for Barbarians, Childhood of a Leader, Lost City of Z, High Life, Maps To The Stars, Cosmopolis, and Life. I remember hearing a really great Stern interview with him around 2017 where he mentioned seeing the Heaven Knows What poster and immediately contacting the Safdies to work together. Him and Lucas Hedges in my opinion are two young male actors working on another level (plus Phillip Seymour Hoffman's son's one performance in Licorice Pizza). Caleb Landry Jones is another young actor I get excited about. Also Christopher Abbott. this was probably my favorite episode of a podcast I've randomly stumbled upon in awhile. I'd seen the Tuesdays with Stories guy's episodes and enjoyed but Sam is just such an awesome podcast guest with such well rounded intelligence. I grew up in rural NE Texas with nothing but flawed characters at every turn of every generation and the way you guys talked about this movie was the conversation I've been yearning to have instead of the same old surface level critique. these were really cool gifts also. very thoughtful. And in conclusion I gotta say this is one of my new favorite podcasts. I really love the love of pop culture you both have as two brothers with an obvious "country" background. I can relate.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment, seriously one of the best compliments we've gotten so far. Sam is the best, he's so easy to talk to and I feel like his style of comedy fits perfect for what were trying to. We've been lucky to have some great guests but the first pod we did together is the one I always recommend to anyone curious about the show. I have been on a Robert Pattinson kick since this pod so I'll definitely check out the ones I haven't seen that you mentioned. I also loved licorice pizza so I'm definitely curious to see what Hoffmans son does next as well as the others you mentioned. Seriously thanks so much for your kind words, it really made my day 🙏
about to check out that The Departed episode. another banger movie my brother and I love with infinite replay value and quotes. he even has the poster in his childhood room@@movieruiners
I'm in my early 30's. Daniel Radcliffe has a better catalog for a longer time. Pattinson sucks. Not because he starred in Twilight, but because he's the same exact character in every performance. Dafoe carried Lighthouse and, if we weren't a generation of memes, it would've fucking bombed. Comedians taking the juxtaposition, off-stage, just to sound intelligent, makes me madder than our national debt
I love Sam. But he's WRONG about Nutmeg. Took about 2 or 3 tablespoons (maybe more, it's been a bit) mixed with frost gatorade at around 8 pm. Thought I'd be high in an hour or two. Nope. Nothing. Went home dejected. Woke up on another planet. Super duper high. And that lasted all day. The high actually lasted for about 2.5 days. I even played in a basketball game and it's a story but blah blah blah. Do nutmeg, kids. It works.
Man its great to see a sincere Sam. Thanks
No problem, Sam's the real article
Great episode!! Happy to see Sam back on.
Thank you so much! We were pumped to have him back on, Sam rules!
Perfect pregame for Toads Morale
You're in for a treat, we saw Sam perform it the night before and he absolutely destroyed
rip buddy duress
I love this movie
Same, it's so incredible!

Thank you kindly! We did another episode with Sam & Lund about a year ago on The Departed that you should check out next

Haha that's crazy, Dock Ellis would be proud.
