Brilliant idea and fantastic build. The only design change I would make it to have a press button, and put it on the top button, so that turning it on doesn't nudge it out of place.
Well done! From a number of your videos, I have already incorporated a number of your ideas in my own applications, though admittedly, not as good nearly as yours. But, they're definitely improving as a direct result from watching what you've made. Keep up the great work! Seriously, thank you for sharing!
Awesome build! Tacking parts together to drill perfectly aligned holes without lots of measuring seems genius! I had no idea you could get such powerful magnets out of car AC motors! I will have to look into this!! Hole saw at 13:21 looked red hot!! now wire that power supply to the motor on the drill so that when you turn the drill on, the vise locks, and when you turn the drill back off it releases!
Good idea. I wonder if it would hold for slot and milling cutters? Might be an idea to put a thin sheet of plastic under the magnet to make it easier to remove steel and iron shavings and dust. I guess they would build up into a messy pile.
From what I can tell you've got them electro-magnets wired in series... They need to be wired in parallel...so they're both working at the same potential... Don't forget: Currents divide PROPORTIONALLY in parallel... The voltage stays substantially the same... But I like the concept...🇬🇧☺️
I wish you would add some subtitles about the material used and/or where you found certain things;i.e., the magnets, the cylinders used for the all thread, aluminum or steel, ya know just some need to know stuff. Thanks. And keep up the great work!
Thank you :) used metal plates 8 mm thick, 10 x 50 mm flat rods, 20 x 40 mm square rod, 20 mm trapezoidal screw and round nut, magnets removed from the air conditioning compressors remaining after the previous car connected in parallel, 12 V DC power supply A. When I am at home, I will make accurate measurements because I don't remember at the moment
The electrical connections are not waterproof. So you shouldn't use coolant. Apart from that it is very well done. I love how you manage without lathe using simple tools.
as long as it doesn't get on the mains part of the power supply, which is a totally separate unit its fine, if it shorts the power supply will shut off and the vice will loose grip but its not going to happen with those magnets. my only observation about it is if it gets into the switch its going to bugger up the contacts
Thank you :) dream of a lathe, but I still have many obstacles to have such a lathe, the biggest obstacle is the place, which in my workshop is lack and costs. But I will definitely try to overcome these obstacles :)
@@WorkshopFromScratch i did overcame logistics by getting a Bv21 lathe, a small but sturdy china import, later i added a Cortini H75 a mini lathe but really well made, I believe this one is something like 40 yrs old. You seem to have great crafting skills, that's why I thought a lathe would serve you well
LOVE THIS! I would epoxy in a 5mm LED above the switch on the horizontal surface and grind it flush. I would also put a lipo battery in it, eventually.
I think I've watched every video you've made. excellent as always. I was wondering if you design & fabricate as you go or are you following plans for these builds? If you create plans for some of these projects, I'd venture to say you could make some money selling them. I'd be interested in quite a few of the plans, specifically the 2 x 72 Belt Grinder and the adjustable Drill Press table. This is my favorite channel on You Tube. Best regards.
you have great Fabrication skills. About tapping with grease or lube oil. Don't. Instead, get some high sulfur oil or specialty tapping fluid. The difference is enormous
I love it, free style vice clamping, no more Tee bolts or swerving the table around.
Thank you.

What kind of car did you get the magnets out of

the electromagnets come from the A / C compressor clutch and are powered by DC from 12 V, and I also supplied it with such current

o cara bombardeia a gente com 500 técnicas diferentes sendo usadas de forma tão primorosa... sensacional. Parabéns!
A great use of easily found magnetic parts. Thanks for posting.
Thank you 😁
It's getting to where I give a thumbs up before I even watch the video now. *Well done; really nice.*
Thank you 😁
Oh shit there is a video here?
Fantastic execution! Well done!
Thank you :)
Love this idea!!!!!!!!
Thanks buddy :)
Very cool as always boys
you both should do a collab video: building the ultimate Hydraulic Pneumatic Electromagnetic Vice ! haha
Incredible in form and function.Old style craftsmanship with current tools. Technical thanks
Added. One of the better channels like that alongside Made in Poland and ExtremeMake
Dziękuję 😁 Pozdrawiam
I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT USING THE COMPRESSOR MAGNETS...GREAT IDEA BROTHER..
Thank you :) Such magnets are strong, and for such a vise for drilling their strength is sufficient :)
What an awesome idea. Great job building it.
Very good idea, practical and useful. ⭐
No more screws or sliding table, good, secure and firm fixation to work safely.👍
Thank you 😁
I actually like your choice of music which you use with your videos
Awesome ingenuity, remarkable build. Thanks for the insight Sir.
Thank you :)

Pomysł super a i wykonanie też fajne a sam film przyjemnie się ogląda
Dziękuję 😁
I saw your mag drill, then this. New subscriber. Freaking awesome use of available materials.
Thank you 😁

Thank you :)
From Paul Howard Hello from Oregon.Beautiful job on the vice love the fast travel on the drill press
Thank you :)
Отличное решение!!! Спасибо за идею!!!
Man if you had a lathe and a milling machine you would be unstoppable.
Great video, keep'um coming.
You made a hillbillys day.

Thank you:) As I wrote in the description, the electromagnets are connected in parallel :) The serial connection lowered their power
@@WorkshopFromScratch
Ok sorry... I didn't read that bit...
The reason series lowered the power is due to voltage drop across the loads...🇬🇧☺️
Brilliant design and superlative fabrication.
Thank you :)
Czemu te super filmy wyświetla mi dopiero teraz 😭😭😭 kawał świetnej roboty

Very nice. You should've half hinged the top threaded bushing to be able to lift it up and push the vice closed. Then tighten it down by a quick turn.
Thank you :) Very nice idea maybe in some project I will use it :)
Amazing fabricator. Great video.
Man your a true genius, love that and the table. Keep it up.
Thank you :)

Thank you. This is a 12v voltage, plus I tried to isolate myself strongly, it's a shame that I didn't show it in the film.

Thank you, Great practical build ! Super !
I'm. Hooked on this man's skill level,
You're doing great!
You need a lathe, even better if you find a relic to be restored, it would be an amazing content to share!!

Good one !
Very nice work with the TIG welder and the angle grinder. was all of the metal work steel or was some of the housing for the magnets aluminum?
Ok, yeah. That's awesome.
Man that is super cool… I wonder how strong those magnets are?
