She spoke in Houston this morning at a teachers convention. She got a standing ovation for seven minutes, she asked people to sit down, but every person who could stand was applauding. It delayed the start of her speech, she had to stand there and thank them over and over and they just kept clapping for her.

If she’s so “poorly regarded” then how has she closed the gap in swing states in less than a week? And she’ll probably get another bump when she announces her running mate as well as a week’s worth of coverage via the DNC.
Rightly or wrongly, VP is seen as a “do nothing” job. Now that she’ll have the nomination, the campaign has shifted from stalling out in second gear to overdrive in a nanosecond. I’ve not seen anything like it, at least politically.
It’s a bit like Trump in n reverse. The first half of ‘16, political “experts” kept saying that his success was not sustainable. Fast forward to ‘24 and Harris has all the mojo.
