Thanks so much! Luke Sacher shooter of this interview PS- Ms. Wyman was SO sweet to me- she loved that I framed her with her mountains in the background...
@soapbxprod That is so interesting - Love this channel of yours. Looking forward to viewing all the interesting interviews and hollywood history you have posted. Jane Wyman is still missed. So generous to all those she worked with. I know on Falcon crest that Lorenzo Lamas said she was a joy to work with and took the time to help him and teach him. No airs and graces, just a hard working lady who was kind and generous to those working with her
Thank you for the interview! I woke up this morning thinking of Jane and I should tune in for one of her rare interviews and by George, here it was. I found all five segments very entertaining and interestingly enough not once did Falcon Crest or Ronald Reagan come up!
Dear John, Thanks so very much for your kind words, and for tuning into our channel- it's such a rarity to receive on UA-cam... we're thrilled that you enjoyed the interview- it was one of the best days of my professional career meeting and shooting her in her home... she even said to Carole, "Isn't he adorable?" I thought I was going to faint! :) Carole didn't ask any questions about Ronnie or Falcon Crest because we were working on producing a documentary feature based on our dear friend Janet Leigh's autobiography, "There Really Was a Hollywood"- so we were concentrating on the lives of the great leading ladies! We have many other exclusive interviews on our channel with other legends of Old Hollywood: Jackie Cooper, Margaret O'Brien, Robert Stack, Charlton Heston, Lizabeth Scott, Anita Page... and a marathon interview with Lillian Burns Sidney, the power behind the Throne of MGM... hope that you take a look and enjoy some of them. Warmest Regards, Luke Sacher Praeses & Soapbox Productions Inc.
Jane Wyman refused to talk about Ronald Reagan or Falcon Crest. Surely they knew that and didn't ask her. I knew her for 35 years and I wouldn't have dared to ask her.

yet Lorenzo Lamas speaks very highly of her. Saying that she took him under her wing and taught him a great deal and that without her help he is sure he would have been axed early on, As in the early days his acting skills weren'y the best. That said I can believe she could be formidable just like Angela was.
All Thant Heaven Allows is one of my favorite all-time movies. Jane and Rock were incredible and so photogenic in that film. She definitely was not a "plain Jane" as she describes herself in that picture.
Jane Wyman and President Reagan stayed on good terms though until the end of his life, they were just unable to be married to each other. Shortly before his death Nancy had contacted Jane and Jane came up from her Rancho Mirage home and sat with him for a little while.
She was a perfectionist, knew what was good and wouldn't tolerate anything less. If an actor wasn't pulling their weight she canned them. With Robert Foxworthy she liked him but due to Elizabeth Montgomery's failing health at the time he wasn't giving it all he should have he left friends but he wasn't able to give the show his all and he knew it. She was a shy person but every bit a lady.
I don't remember the exact source, I believe it was in an article by Michael Reagan Jane & Ronnies adopted son. Ronnie had asked Nancy to contact Jane if he ever got close to the end of his life, so she wouldn't have to hear it from other sources as even after their divorce Ronnie & Jane stayed the best of friends. Re: Jane visiting Ronnie don't remember the source had read it somewhere.
They were both good people. Ronnie was more of a Libertarian than the Left or the Right likes to admit... :) He loved Milton Friedman, and F. A. Hayek... and Mrs. Thatcher- and that's good enough for me.
I know that Wyman attended Reagan's funeral and that there are photos of Wyman and Nancy Reagan together following Maureen Reagan's funeral. I had never heard about Nancy contacting Wyman resulting in her visiting Reagan. Where did you hear that? Very interesting.
tallpaul521 Hi Paul! That was probably due to our line of questions- we were shooting Ms. Wyman for a shelved project based on Janet's autobiography, "There Really was a Hollywood"... which was primarily focusing on the lives of the great women stars of their era... :)
I could listen to Jane all day.Thank you ...
That's very kind of you- she's a pistol. :) Ronnie made a big mistake letting go of her- no offense to Nancy! :)
What a fierce woman. I have this impression she never says a bad word about anyone. A real lady.
Really great that these were recorded, this set was particularly great with Jane Wyman.
Fascinating interview - what an absolute icon.
I've watched most of these interviews with these great stars. I love them all.

Jane was very pleasant to listen to! I just watched All That Heaven Allows the other night and loved it!
I could listen to her stories forever! Such a lady.

And through out the rest of her life NEVER said a bad word about him!!

Could not agree more! Thanks for watching- we do appreciate it. :)
I loved her in Pollyanna.
She seems like she was a nice person .

I wanted to know what it was like to receive her Oscar from none other than the marvelous Ronald Colman❤️
he was a great actress and thn one documentary about his life

Must be nice to be in demand by Hollywood
LOL! Well... Hollywood then is not Hollywood now. Hollywood in Jane's era was about real talent!
Very sincere and real! Unlike a lot of actresses of that era.
Ronald Reagan??
Hi Paul... I don't understand! But yes, she was the first Mrs. Reagan... :)
***** Luke. Only hoping that she'd mentioned Ronnie.
