I've never used the Feed and Wax on my guitars but it's cool finding this video. I have used it on all my axe and tomahawk handles for years and other projects as well and it works great. It's probably as good or better as the fretboard conditioners sold for fretboards.
you just saved me ten bucks. thanks bro. i use dollar store mineral oil{ baby oil} it works fantastic on rosewood and purple heart wood. lemon oil is mineral oil with lemon fragrance. baby oil is the exact same thing. i dknow if its worth ten bucks for cranuba wax. probably actually
Save your time and darken your Fretboards the easy way. Use "Old English" for Dark woods. For your maple Fretboards use "Old English" original. It doesn't darken your dots or pearl inlays. It doesn't darken the wood around the neck. It conditions the board perfectly. The same oils in "Old English" have been used in high dollar guitar polishes for decades. It's also cheaper costing than other oils that have some "Guitar Oil" branding.
I have been using butchers block oil for my guitar for almost 2-3 years now and it does the job brilliantly, I found the tip for this method online but I suppose everyone has their own preferences, however just thought I'd mention it.
I use feed n wax it has beeswax and orange oil, oily on the finish, but good on fretboards. I had that bottle 2 years now, used it a couple dozen times, and i've used less than an ounce, so it goes a long way. The wax will seal better than the oil.
I use food grade mineral oil. It has no additives, such as perfumes or dyes. Its often sold as cutting board conditioner. Its cheap and one 16oz bottle is all I'll ever need for the rest of my life, even with 7 basses.
Oddly, nobody considered using fretboard oil. What I mean is everyone here was so excited to create a great idea of a home remedy, nobody considered to use a product that's actually made for a fretboard. Did I mention it's cheaper than most of these other products? Whatever now I'll have to ask clients if they also do these crazy remedies before I repair their guitars.
Fretboard oil is mineral oil and fragrance Baby oil is mineral oil and fragrance feed n wax is mineral oil, bees wax, and carnauba wax So.... crazy remedy?
We will check back after 20 years of use to see which did better 😮

Feed N Wax has mineral oil as one of the ingredients, just like the baby oil.

Omg.whats the name of the mineral oil?
I use mineral oil too.. Go Raiders
@@overnightguitarist5063 You can get it anywhere, just ask for cutting board oil.
To be honest, this was pretty cool man .
baby oil is for cleaning, wax is more to cover and seal the wood pore
Mineral oil or baby oil works fine. A little goes a long way.

Fretboard oil is mineral oil and fragrance
Baby oil is mineral oil and fragrance
feed n wax is mineral oil, bees wax, and carnauba wax
So.... crazy remedy?
Mineral oil is the best for wood and baby oil is 98% mineral oil
I have my own recipe: linseed oil, turpentine, beeswax and carnauba wax. works great
I would not use WAX of any kind. it will build up and seal the wood so oils won't soak into the wood
The baby oil wasn't on as long.
Now see in a month which side is dryer.
how long should you leave it on for?
Time for an update....
STP Synthetic Motor Oil
