Congratulations Sherry, on your baby coming, you have come along with your dad's show. It's great to see you an pink in thr trades. I live in Australia and love to see you all again soon
My Daughter just returned from 6 yrs in Australia. We Live in Nicaragua. Came home with Her College Degree & and more experience. She was born in Florida and moved to: San Francisco, California Alexander, Egypt, Valletta Malta, Virginia, Cairo, Egypt, Athens, Greece, Nicaragua, Australia & Nicaragua. PRICELESS ❤❤❤
I can recall episodes where Mike mentions the homeowners covering part of it as well. It varied with the situation. A good example was the Holmes on Homes episode where a contractor was putting up fences for 50 families and didn't complete the work. Different people had paid him different amounts. Some paid the whole amount, some part of it, etc. So, Mike told the homeowners that he would charge them what the contractor quoted them minus anything they had already paid him. I have little doubt that the actual cost was much higher than that, so all these other sources mentioned would be a factor as well. Donated labor and materials, the show covering it, and even some cases where Mike took money out of his own pocket.
Your background reminds me of the trendy bookcases that office workers use in their zoom meetings. They fill them with the latest must-read business books (that I'm willing to bet none have actually ever read). But yours is the contractor's version. I'm sure you have regularly used each tool and product. Very nice!
Hi Sherry - Thank you for the Q&A. This is likely loaded question. Are there short-term/temporary things we can do to make a bad shower stall safer? I bought a foreclosed home years ago and started to discover a lot of "self improvements" made by the previous owner. I just happened to notice our tiled shower is missing grout where the tile meets the ceiling and I can see what I think is a wood stud behind it. So I'm pretty much assuming there's mold. The thing should be torn down and replaced. But we can't always do that right away. Time, money, disruption.... pandemic. Heck, I know people who can't even find a contractor available right now. I was thinking of cleaning the area and using silicon caulk to at least prevent more moisture from getting back there - but am I just deluding myself that this is even an option? We got asthma folks in the house so mold is extremely worrying to me. Thanks!
i get bored and watch time from time being from Ottawa and do tile work in your region , ive watched the show seems like forever and a video awhile back you said your adept at installing tile and was a forte on your part , as a tile business owner/installer i think more effort should be put into this channel how something specialized like tile setting "properly" along with other trades you have learnt along the way can give faith and encouragement to men and women to pick up a hammer no risk no reward anyone reading this at one point in Mikes life when he young granted most likely he had to learn to hammer a nail , intuition , common sense , hard work and ambition is all you need to be successful in Canada IMO Mike and Sherry are the proof,
Awesome, on the Patch, there are allot of ways of patching a Drywall hole on UA-cam, your way looks so much easier, I'm glad I ran into your Video, thanks for sharing. By chance is this Baby number Two, I know you had a baby Earlier, seen on your Series with you Dad, congrats if this is baby number two. Your Dad is Awesome, he's the best, I would say he's the Best ever, on a Finisher Carpenter and the Best Contractor in the whole world, doing what he does, helping out Troubled Home Owners, he's the Best. Showing these Video's on How Too's is a good Idea. On your Dads Series, he doesn't really show you how to, just a good Idea on what to Use. Hope your Dad does more video's and I hope you children listen to him more, Kidding, well nope, sometimes you don't listen, Kidding, well sometimes you don't listen.
What ever happened to Pinky? I know she was fired when she had issues on the New Orleans project, the heat and humidity, and family separation... She seemed so enthusiastic about the building trades. Did she stay with it?
Don't those whole home surge protectors have to be installed in the main electrical panel ? Everyone should double check what is allowed in their state or municipality, because although some work might be OK for homeowners, that may not be. Also members of the public, please don't do any work if you aren't 100% sure what you are doing, you don't want to electrocute yourself or someone else.
Do these more! Love what your family does❤😂
love the show, fairplay for all the work, that is done on your show.....
Your family is very kind for all they do for everyone

Re: the whole-panel surge-protector: It's much more likely to protect branch circuits from other large-draw appliances than from lightning.
My parents lived in a house for five years and there’s is heat & no air conditioning at all.

Do you think the show will return, and if so about when? Love the show no matter who's in charge! lol
Thank you.
Great stuff
I've had the biggest crush on Sherry for a very long time. Not in a weird creepy way though lol
Will come to the states
For what the shows make nobody should come out of pocket
Congrats
Who pays for it after it has to be demolished like in Terracewood?
Mike Holmes once ordered food from me.
