I found your channel a couple of weeks ago, and honestly, it feels as if you have handed me a user's manual on my own body! I feel so much more prepared to navigate weight loss in a way that doesn't feel like starvation or punishment! Thank you for putting this content out here where we can all learn and benefit from it! What a blessing 💕

I recovered from an eating disorder and what I found is that if I just eat what I really want and crave, my body adjusts and my metabolism adapts. I really eat whatever I want and food freedom feels incredible! It is so possible 🥰👍❤

Hmm, I tried that for a long time, and I never got completely tired of bingeing on cookie dough, brownie batter, bowls of frosting, etc. I continued to gain for year, and things didn't get better until I committed to a plan to feed myself mostly nutritious food- with a lessening amount of more refined foods- in meal windows. However, since I am a senior citizen now, lots of body signals have changed, but not necessarily desire. So I"m checking out what the team has to offer.

I think if it's best if you try to eat all food in moderation, not binge on the sweets but do enjoy dessert 😋@@oolala53

I like how you framed food as fuel and pleasure.

I have experienced orthorexia trying to eat perfect foods and I’m recovering from all that now and the past keto , carnivore , ketovore diets in an attempt to lose 60 pounds , I’m menopausal almost 55 and I did force my precious body to lose 42 pounds which was miserable 😖 but now I eat to fuel my life workouts and body . Strength training , yoga, rebounding on my trampoline, slow long walks . I’m starting to see some progress since I’m not restricting so much including calorie restriction! I’m no long demonizing entire food groups !

SO glad I found your channel you guys! It's like I finally found the content that makes sense. I always knew somewhat that I knew all about good food, good excercise to lose weight. But to me, and I guess to most people, it's 90% psychology and making changes in habits. Yet I never read and watched so many quality advice like I do now. Together with Noom, I feel it's different now ( 10yrs + of yoyo-ing). Also being 31 helps with not focusing so much on how I look, but how I feel. End of last year I made a huge job change. It makes all the difference now too. Regular schedules, more time off work. People, you should focus on overall wellbeing and a healthy view on life!! Totally convinced it's the only key

It's amazing how much understanding what you're dealing with helps so much, while ago the moment I made my researches and knew water retention is spiky for 3~4 days after a "bad day" made it so much easier to brush those days off, and not to my surprise the science was exactly correct, after those 4 days I do lose the dramatic amount of gained weight and exactly back on track, I've been watching your videos for about 3 weeks now, either providing me with really solid new insight or confirming other plans/insights I already came to, I do really enjoy the channel keep up the amazing work!

Im still trying to lose weight. I have hoshimotos and as a rwsukt, reactive hypoglycemia. Im doing keto with a 35 g carb limit. I just dealt with Halloween and 2 trwar meals back to back but i had some control over tye menu so i didnt have probs. My mom jist imvited me for tganksgiving this thurs, and i had to call back and ask about the menu she and my steo dad are cooking. Its tye standard faves of turkey, mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, stuffing, jellied cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie for my son, mom, and she was thinkng me too. With her menu, the only thing i coukd have was Turkey. My step dad is diabetic, my mom is pre duabetic with graves and high blood pressure as well as other probs. I asked if i coukd bring my home made low carb cranberry sauce, ham steaks, and cauliflower puree. She also said sparkling juice was tge planned drink, but i said ive got a zero carb 5 cal soarkling water i could bring instead for myself. Sge was ok with me bringing stuff i coukd have and tget woukd try it. If they like it great, if tget dont i just take it back home to eat later.
My mom, step dad, and son are not doing low carb or keto like i am. Also, things like soy and seed oils are a nope for me and some of tye standard options my moms making have those too. So working with her to provide accomidations i think keeps from straining their already strained finances making seperate things to accomidate me while allowing me to not need to slave all day in tge kitchen for a party of one to avoid falling off tge wagon but still allow me to enjoy making holiday food my way. I think its a win win.
Im a total junkfood junkie, i have a addictive personality. I like my tteats, but knowing how to say no and knowing that some foods are too much or not knoeing exactly whats in them is a prob. Finfing solutions and work arounds is good. My mom may be a toxic person whos company i dont really enjoy, but at least sges supportive of me getting healthy even if she has unitentionally tried tripping me up. I mean, for halloween she and my step dad bought us all mcdonalds taking me and my son trick or treating. I was fine with a value menu cheese burger sans bun with lettuce instead and ketchup and mustard as well as pickles and onion. I got a cheeseburger with bun but tge rest right. I had to scrape tge sauces and toppings off tge bun to have sans bun. At least i stuck to no soda and no fries. They didnt think it through very well when ordering my food but i found a way to work.with what i got.

Thanks for sharing, Melissandra. Way to prep and trying to find things that work for you. I'm glad your mom is supportive of you even if sometimes trips you up. We can only do our best with the cards we're dealt with. As long as you're doing your best, and don't give up, you'll get there.

@@CoachViva thnx. Im doing a mix of dirty and lazy keto so im already not suoer strict anyway. I also am doing a more animal based version, and so im focused on more of a high protuen adequate fat low carb approach. My mom kinda snacks a lot on very unhealthy options in excess all day. Shes severely mobility impaired because of bad arthritis so shes been worried about how bad my weight and health was despite my youth (im only 36). Shes same hieght as me but easy quadruple my weight. I had to work hard to find a sustainable working duetary lifestyle fir myself. Im also doing intermittent fasting in the form of time restricted eating. Im currently aiming for a 17 hr fast windiw, but sometimes i only do 12-14 hrs and other times i do 18- over 20 hrs depending on sleep scheduke and hunger cues. I still like my sweets and chips and whatnot, but am.learning how to make healthier versions. Like im learning how to make cheese crisps to use in place of chips, i figured out how to make low carb bagels, pancakes, and doughnuts using things like coconit flour, eggs, healthy fats, 1/4 banana, protien powder, ect. I can still have most of my fave foods if i make them myself but tweak the recipe. A good example would be meatloaf or my pumpkin beef stew. Meatloaf i sub bread crumbs/cereals/crackers with a bit of coconut flour. I make mini meatloafs so i can do better portion control. I pair with bacon fried greens or cauliflower mash. With my pumkin beef stew i nix potatoes and either do a sub like turnip or just dont bother. And yhe rue used flour or cornstarch which i sub with 1/2 tsp xantham gum so tye broth thickens into a gravy consistancy.
I actually planned out a whole thanksigiving spread for myself doing a 100% keto safe version, but not having to put in all that work sounds better for now.
Its about thinkng outside the box and working with the tools u have and experimenting with new ideas and new foods to make foods u love fit ur needs.
Its like a game to find flops and wins.

We don't celebrate Thanksgiving but we did get a ton of junk food coming in and I ate a lot, but just went back to normal eating and the weight is quickly coming off as quickly as I gained xD Enjoyed the food, but I miss eating reasonably and sustainably.

I hear a lot of orthorexic language in this video like “back on the wagon”. THERE IS NO WAGON - that concept and black and white/on again off again thinking is one of the main causes of the binge-restrict pattern
