I failed her. She’s gone. I can’t redo what is done. Manny is gone too. Lost him when I went to save Susan. All the war strategies I learned from my interest in combat and scale models didn’t help me in a scenario as weird as this. At least I helped Rodrick escape. I know Greg and him are safe, they’re both resourceful kids. They’ll carry on the torch I gave to them. I can’t let the same fate happen to Susan happen to me. The boys would be horrified.
