The first clip is from the church I grew up in. It is insane how manipulative and abusive that churches. The church does conversion therapy and brushes it off as gods want. It preaches that everyone in the community should empty their wallets for the church even though many can’t. It’s sick and disgusting and I hate that church. I’m glad that now people can see how abusive it is. Put them on blast and never let them live A day without understanding what they do is absolutely against God‘s want if you believe in that

Mhm. I remember being deeply involved in a youth group at a church that preached this kind of stuff.
It's weird because my mom was divorced and I never wanted to get married and was closeted genderqueer with strong masculine tendencies, so I didn't give a ton of thought to all the rhetoric about wives being submissive to their husbands.
But I remember standing in line at the store with two 20-something-year-old women who were interning with the church, and one of them saying something like: "It's going to be so hard to find a husband because I have such a strong personality but still need to submit to him."
Just, knowing that you're a strong woman but still believing you NEED a husband and that once you have one you NEED to submit to him.
