Croatia and Italy are situated on opposite sides of the Adriatic Sea. The climate must be similar, and living in Croatia is cheaper. That island is the only one I would buy.
I’ve lived in Maryland my entire life and have been boating on the Chesapeake since I was in diapers. Here’s why nobody has bought that old fort. 1 the structure is crumbling and has been for decades due to age but mostly flood damage, it gets at least minor flooding fairly often and big storms pretty much put it underwater. 2 it’s an historic site and Maryland’s Historic Society is extremely strict about making any changes at all. 3 there’s no water or electricity and the Historic Society will never allow solar panels etc because that would impede the aesthetics. IF you got a green light from the Historic Society to make it livable you’d have millions of dollars in it and unable to insure it because of the constant flooding.
@@MrYourfavoritesub Typically because while you're allowed to own the property it falls under the rules of a historic heritage site. Meaning that you can't make any changes that would potentially damage the sites value as a historical monument. There are quite a few houses in the US that fall under similar rules. Essentially by purchasing the property you become the caretaker. But you can't do whatever you want like you could with normal property because of the historic value. You have to get any upgrades or improvements approved, and they don't approve much. Plus if the site is also declared a bird sanctuary you have not just one but two groups that have to approve your requests. Along with getting the typical permits from the city as well. So frankly that island sounds like a waste of time to even try and bother. Even if one group were to approve it is likely the other won't. And you will just waste time and money running back and forth.
Please people, stay away from those types of islands. I heard goblins come out at night if you're alone, it's haunted. Don't say no one warned you about it. Believe me ... it's real. I know because when my mommy reads to me my bed time stories she warns me not to play video games after 10pm, especially after midnight. I once did and I saw my teddy bear fly from the entrance door and drop all the way to the window while saying "go to sleep" in a creepy voice that actually sounded familiar, I know, it's weird. So I may be young, but I'm very experienced with the cocoo monsters that come out late at night.
Any of those look good to me. That one in Baltimore is really cool. I would think one could restore or rebuild the lighthouse as a home to live in without running into issues with the bird sanctuary thing. Heck, I'd even get rid of a lot of the structures on the interior and plant more trees. Restoring the outer walls would probably cost hundreds of thousands of dollars though.
Not sure where they got the idea that Palmyra Atoll was for sale. It has been owned by the Nature Conservancy since 2000. If it were for sale for for anything resembling a reasonable price it wouldn't be because I would have already bought it.
Basically what you're saying is, you just want a girl, period. And if a pet, preferably "a girl" one that's "hot" too. Oh and that rock on the side of the road, only if it's a girl! and hot enough!
Fort Carroll actually looks like there are a few spots you can build on top of the existing more structurally sound buildings, and not harm the birds at all by doing it... You can reinforce the pre-existing structure underneath what looks like at least 3 spots around the outer edge of the island and just put an oddly shaped little house up there. No reason you can't find a way to get wifi out there either.. Daily life would be a pain in the ass some times considering you can't have Amazon or Domino's or whatever deliver to your door but like.. It does sound pretty cool, and you are at least fairly close to a populated mainland to supply up.. If I had the money, I would genuinely consider that one.
Not how islands work. Typically you're still technically governed by whatever country owns the island. There is no land anywhere in the world that isn't governed by some country.

Richard Salmon getting things at a cheaper price helps with finance. Most people signify Black Friday as a day to cut prices not slavery. Maybe it once stood as such but boycotting something on a subject most people don’t associate with anymore doesn’t change the past and doesn’t make a difference for the future so yes I would like to continue shopping on that day because I’m helping myself financially as well as helping the black community by changing a day once used in black oppression into something beneficial for everyone.

Pitcairn Island is where the HMS Bounty mutineers settled with a handful of Tahitians. Since it is so remote and has so few residents (pop. 50) there is a huge amount of inbreeding. Everyone is related and that's before the child molestation/porn charges that jailed 7 men 1/3rd of the male population for several years.
Probably the reason nobody wants to buy Palmyra is because it's a preserve and you need permission to go there from the u.s. government and it's one of the most isolated places on the globe.
So? What if lots of people died there? I mean, over a thousand of people probably died on your property in the past. Some people move into houses that were built in what used to be a cemetery so what difference does it makes?
The island in main could easily be turned into Glamping, or a party venue. Fill the island with weed plants, some portapotty's and some nice size tents. You could easily turn a boat into the restaurant or store as well.

My guess is that people don't want to buy the Croatian island not because of the perception that it's haunted but because, as you said, people are still finding the bones of the 52 murdered people. That probably means you can't develop the land without taking precautions in the building process to properly account for and remove any more bones that might be found, which makes it prohibitively expensive to build there.
Pitcairn Island is home to 55 residents and has an active residency application program. They require you to have proof of an income and enough money to get you by for two years in case you have trouble getting work (which is available, but not necessary. some of the population does not work).

I may actually buy the fort. I'll just keep it untouched with the exception of a small apartment built into the structure.
Prince Mononoke I would build a small off grid tiny house
@@wrzl1675 how the fuck does the historical society have power over some else's property?
@@MrYourfavoritesub You NEVER truly own property..... you rent it from the government unfortunately.

Is buying an island on sale during Black Friday too?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and also the day where Slavemasters sold black slaves at half price. Still thinking about shopping that day?
Richard Salmon getting things at a cheaper price helps with finance. Most people signify Black Friday as a day to cut prices not slavery. Maybe it once stood as such but boycotting something on a subject most people don’t associate with anymore doesn’t change the past and doesn’t make a difference for the future so yes I would like to continue shopping on that day because I’m helping myself financially as well as helping the black community by changing a day once used in black oppression into something beneficial for everyone.
