I genuinely think the Witcher 3 should be proclaimed European Cultural Heritage, and that at least one of these tracks will one day in say an.2250 be regarded as a masterpiece of Classic Music.
Masterpiece or not but just recently I heard "The wolf and the Swallow " on classical FM radio, followed by some music from Warhammer game. Also there's a Heroes Orchestra which plays scores from Heroes of Might and Magic games.
Imagine playing this game for the first time again.....experience the moral dilemma in Baron's quest, getting the pearl from the sea bed for a husband with hopes to revive wife suffering from amnesia, experience the underlying themes of racism, genocide, casteism, lack of black and white but instead all grey scenarios....crying to the Wolf and the Swallow tune.....all over again. Hand's down...it is a masterpiece and the current GOAT.
Honestly the first time arriving in Skellige, hearing that sound track and seeing the most beautiful scenery I'd ever seen in a game at that point is something I will never forget.
Here in August 2021 yout not the only one buddy I sometimes just put the game on and do other things like clean or when I'm at work I listen to the soundtrack when doing paper work ❤❤
What I love about this is folk band (Percival) - self taught artists with homemade instruments are playing as equals with the professional orchestra. It's very refreshing!
even though Geralt gets his own epic orchestral theme - it's Percival that supply his personality. The result is the greatest ever soundtrack to any game.
Go read the books. As a fan of both books and games (and a few episodes of this Netflix stuff, which is unfortunately ripped by political correctness) I can tell you, that listening to audiobook of the Witcher's world to sleep is best you can do to avoid sleeping (give me more, give me more, fuck tomorrow's work).

@@egdrei I think there's a lot to like in the game but in my opinion what It excels at is player choice and how it gives you what you put into it. I've seen many lesser games that also have multiple endings but the different here is that unlike those games the ending isn't entirely dependent on one choice but several and it all culminates in a perfect ending depending on how you play. It could be tragic, incredibly happy or even bittersweet.
So I'm not the only one... Such a beautiful music, funny thing this song reminds me a bit from the music from my own homeland, and I'm not even European, but from the south of Brazil, i guess the accordion is what trully brought my thoughts to the pampas of my land.
Each region has such distinct music as well, like you can tell when a song is from Velen, Skellige, Beauclair, and even Ain Siede (the elven stuff when the wild hunt is involved)
Still remember when I first went to Kaer Morhen in Witcher 3. Ran through the whole castle and was like, ahhhhh just as I remember it from the first Witcher. I am home again.

I played Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt when it first came out. Didn't know anything about the books/lore. The beginning felt a bit weird to me, like I needed to know a lot of stuff to enjoy this game to the fullest. So I stopped and forgot about it. Many years later, I decided to give it a second try. I loved it. My computer wasn't cutting it though, the graphics were too much for my shitty laptop. As a 37 year old guy, went and bought a gaming PC just for this game. I had already finished it though, played the new game+ with my new setup and I loved it even more. Watching this video made me feel so weird. I got too excited and tried to hold myself from crying, I don't know why. Here I am, year 2024 almost ending, almost 10 years after the game came out, going in to continue my game, which is truly a masterpiece.
Kaer Morhen gives me chills every time. As well as Farewell, as well as Ladies of the Woods, as well as... :) Damn, years pass and it doesn't get any old. The composers are masters of mood.
This was so damn well played. This recording is extremely well done. You can really feel what it must have been like to see it live. The soundtrack is great and the orchestra did such a good job. The vocals left me speechless.
Eyes tearing up, shivers down my spine, hair standing up on my entire body... happiness, sadness... so many emotions. What a masterpiece of a game. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Skyrim just have the most amazing OSTs, story and gameplay.
I always love how Joanna has to hype herself up for that absolutely epic battle-cry at 45:41. Like, the entire thing is amazing, but every time Percival is at the forefront, the entire composition and performance really get a lift!
The music alone is a masterpiece, going from tonal to atonal, blend traditional instruments with orquestral, grandiose choirs and even use gutural voices, it's simply on another level, and to top it all they even manage to have Yennefer play the first violin.
This game was so amazing that when I watch videos like this I feel like I'm recalling old memories of times past and old friends who are gone, when really it was just a video game. What an amazing piece of art to provide such a worthwhile experience.
7:58-10:30 is such a good representation of why the soundtrack for Witcher 3 is universally praised and loved. The scene it scores has no dialogue, no sound, nothing. Just the look of horror and shock, and slow realization on Geralt's face that he had run out of time. Ciri had died, and there wasn't anything he could do. Man, I didn't cry, but I felt genuine anguish at the thought of having traveled all those hours, fought my way through countless enemies, dealt with kings, assassination plots, old friendships and rescue operations, only to arrive and see your daughter, an anchor, cold, lifeless, dead.
My humble applause for everyone taking part in this concert. The emotions and memories this soundtrack creates is impossible to express in words. Just let the music speak.
@@karanthekhalsaboy for me skyrim will always have a place in my hearth for it touched me in so many levels, BUT After these years i have to say The Witcher wild hunt is far more superior in every aspect.

I feel that skyrim is a bit too much of that "Good mood" game. it just doesn't do it for me anymore... witcher on the other hand has that "dark fantasy" feeling that i love more and require from a game to be good. I'm not saying skyrim is bad or shitty. literally my life was that game for many years and i still enjoy it really much. I respect your opinion and it is good to see that some people still enjoy skyrim even after all these years. Still waiting for that skyblivion mod, are you? :D
I've watched this when this video first came out on YT and It was just after finishing the game. I still get the same feelings even after 5 years when I listen to this music. This is truly magnificent. Witcher 3 would not have been a masterpiece if it wasn't for these awesome artists! Thanks guys! I love how the conductor is wearing a matching outfit just like a npc in the game... :)
The cutscene where "The Wolf and the Swallow" plays in TW3 is probably the most emotion I've felt playing a game, ever. The whole thing was perfect; from the initial focus on random objects in the room symbolising Geralt's initial hesitance/denial, to the look on his face when he turns her over.. I knew she couldn't really be dead, but they really made you feel through the character in that moment. It was the culmination of 50+ hours of gameplay and executed flawlessly. CDPR really knows how to tell stories about relationships.
I always tear up when Geralt finds Ciri "dead" embraces her, and she wakes up with that grand music. It really chokes me up. You can feel the love they have for each other through the music
I really can't believe this masterpiece has been performed, the instruments, the voice actors, damn, it just gives me the goosebumps and this will be played over and over by the Witcher enthusiasists. Thanks again for making a dream real.
I feel so sad for missing this.. it's like missing a concert of AC/DC or MJ in your remote Eastern European Country, which is where i live and that makes me feel even worse. Absolutely amazing performance from the orchestra.. i simply have no words to express my gratitude. Best Regards from Bulgaria, and I can only hope that someday the story continues.
A rare masterpiece where story, action choreography, MUSIC, direction and world exploration depth is all perfect. This felt like binge watching the sopranos or breaking bad where you wanna go back and start playing the game again. I have played the game and the DLC 3 times over and cant wait for the PS5 remastered version in Q2 2022 to play again.
I think I’ve replayed the Witcher 3 5 or 6 times, maybe more. It’s just such a good game, and the dlc are just as amazing if not better than the base game
Blood and Wine dlc had no right to have such an amazing soundtrack lol i swear the first time hearing this song i was god damn and just stood there getting an earful
I, not just once, have fallen asleep and woken up under the influence of music. Lunch break, the only part of the day when I could play; extremely tired and at home with numerous projects, I often found myself dozing off during the short break to the soundtrack of the game. Eventually, I ended up seeking them out to listen to them in their true splendor. Now I understood why they relaxed me so much... To those behind these compositions, I want to express my gratitude. On many days that were tough or seemed without escape, you managed to make them bearable through your music. Thank you.
Damn, how do I get teary eyed every time I listen to this music? It just reminds me of every moment I spent riding through desolate villages, finding monster nests, being in Novigrad and sailing around Skellige. The Witcher 3 is the ultimate RPG.

45:46 thats them

@@wildhunt6350 Yes, I know, I just wasn't much of a fan of them in the game's soundtrack. I thought they did a fantastic job in this performance, though. Like I've said before, they're extremely talented people but their style isn't really my thing and if we're being honest, there aren't many female vocalists that I enjoy listening to.
@@jakobfel2 They did great ingame and here.
@@wildhunt6350 To each their own. I didn't care for their work in the game but here, I think it's the reverb of the concert hall, there's something that made it grow on me. I went back and re-listened to their work in-game and yeah, still not a fan of that but I did enjoy it in this show.

Katarzyna Bromirska's performance during Ladies of the Woods is insane! Her voice and face during that performance is incredible. Encaptures the entire eastern slavic witch lore visually and auditory. She's very beautiful woman! but the faces she make... Goddamn.
Except it's Christina Bogdanova, ex-member of Percival, not Katarzyna Bromirska, who is playing on kemence here
So glad my dads condom broke to have played this Masterpiece of a game...
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO you fuckin killed me
Sometimes I wish I never existed but playing this game makes me feel pretty dam lucky that I was born at the right time to experience it.
Comment sections on UA-cam always amaze me 😅😅😂
Spare a thought for those unfortunate Mozarts, Newtons, Da Vincis, Hitlers and Trumps whose fathers' condoms didn't break.
They will never know the sunshine on their face at the dawn of each new day ... they will never get to argue about the stupefyingly unlikely odds that gave rise to them.
This comment combined with that Gintoki profile pic just made my day ;)
Ladies of the wood was epic. Especially the witch voice lady it was creepy and spot in.👏👏👏🙌🙌
The girls and guy who sit there in the traditional clothes were also involved in making the music of the actual game, not just this concert.

I genuinely think the Witcher 3 should be proclaimed European Cultural Heritage, and that at least one of these tracks will one day in say an.2250 be regarded as a masterpiece of Classic Music.
The European Union helped fund this game - so that's not an unreasonable aspiration.
I think Andrzej Sapkowski's books should be proclaimed World Cultural Heritage in the first place.

Oh man, i was refusing to play this game so long time, but last weeks of my life were great because of The Witcher. Everything you mentioned so true.

Getting ready for the new year with this absolute master piece.
What I love about this is folk band (Percival) - self taught artists with homemade instruments are playing as equals with the professional orchestra. It's very refreshing!
Yes I agree ! It's so impressive and must have been a cool exchange between those two types of muscians.
So great!
even though Geralt gets his own epic orchestral theme - it's Percival that supply his personality.
The result is the greatest ever soundtrack to any game.

Years later and no matter where I skip to in this concert, I will get goosebumps in seconds.
I wanna play this game over and over again whenever I listened this masterpiece.

The cutscene where "The Wolf and the Swallow" plays in TW3 is probably the most emotion I've felt playing a game, ever.
