Build Your Own Rice Mill And Make Delicious Khot Cakes【Vietnam ShihYi】

In the era when there was no electricity, harvesting rice was very difficult, especially the process of peeling the rice grains. Ancient Vietnamese people created rice mills that operated with the propulsion of people or cattle. The mill operates mainly thanks to the friction of two circular surfaces made from stone or wood. One surface is stationary and the other will rotate during operation. Friction force will peel off the husk of the rice grains located between the two surfaces. The peeled rice grains will follow the grooves carved on both surfaces and be taken out of the mill. The mill usually contains a lot of clay to help it stand steady during the rice milling process. The creation of ancient rice mills was often done by professional, ethical men. Almost every family owns a mill. You can look at the size of the mill to estimate the prosperity of that family.
