"a lot of damage" in reality no damage. Just really screwed fuel trims. Diesel is more lubricating than gasoline so you're not gonna burn out a pump or something.
I like how they don’t even know why it’s bad
One told you it won't run. And another guy told you, you just flush it out, put gas on it again, and it will run again without problems.
It's not really that bad. But you will need to get it flushed out.
@@Bonde7280some cases, but lile here, if your pump attentant fuks up, by putting 5 litres of diesel in a petrol car, just claim they have a choice of getting someone to flush the tank or the attendant has to pay for a full tank of petrol, ona a 1:10 ratio itll be fine, might smoke a bit, might not be great for the cat, but thats the cost, like me with an older car, itll proba ly do more good than harm with running the diesel mixed in
If the engine is hot enough it will RUN not great but will... when its cold ur f.....
Well basically it just gunks up the fuel system so ya flushing it out is what you have to do. It will start for a bit but then roll coal and die
Life lesson. A mechanic is not a chemist 😅
0:26 "gas motor" and image of Tatra t815 12L 8 cylinder diesel engine
It’ll smoke a lot but it should be fine
Notting bad will happen, it will just stall out because the spark plug can't ignite diesel
Wrong i tried this on a 2 takt scooter runs fine BUT ALOT OF SMOKE. And UR ENGINE HAS TO BE HOT. if its hot it will run. Not when ints cold 😂😂😂
It might stick to parts in the cylinder and clog up perhaps the spark plug and really all you need to do like the guy said, is flush it out
Diesel in gasoline car -> first smoke, tgen problems with ignition because the fuel to air mix won't be alright, also the pressure is different. Not good for the motor but change the fuel and it will be mostly alright again.
Gasoline to diesel car -> no lubricant for the piston, because gasoline washes it away and secondly it won't ignite anymore because diesel is a self igniting mixture under pressure. The result is like a "waterdamage" to your piston because instead of hot pressured gas the piston will meet liquid fuel which can't be compressed. So either the piston rod or something else breaks.
So just don't confuse those fuels please😅
You're incorrect. Gasoline lights extremely easily in a diesel motor. So much so that I've in the past used a gasoline rag and gasoline vapors to "crank" a diesel I was fucking with trying to figure out a fuel issue (glow plugs disconnected so I didn't detonate myself) . It would only run if you could get the rpms over 1000 and the gas rag did just that. Preignited badly and the block got extremely hot very quickly running like that but yeah it WILL ignite in a diesel. The compression ratio of a diesel is MORE than high enough to compression ignite gasoline with no spark plug needed!
@@DarkAttack14 you are right, seems like it's too long ago for me when i did my work as a mechanic 😅 diesel engines also work with a higher pressure, so gasoline will ignite earlier anyway. Thank you for your answer!
I just wonder now where to put my "liqid fuel breaking piston rod or bearing" thing... must be happening with the gasoline engine then, guess i mixed that up, sry🤭 But i can asure you we had those things happening in our garage!
My sister put diesel in a 2008 camry hybrid but thankfully it didnt ruin the car. She was a little slow back then as she was a teenager but shes matured now!
Fun fact: diesel engine powered cars is just another normal car.😂😂😂😂
If 90% of cars run on gas, then gas is the norm. You borrow your friend’s car and you assume it’s normal unleaded gasoline. If it’s anything other then that you’d have to say somn first.
Cody is the only one knows what hes talking about.
IF it has gas still in it it will just smoke a lot....
I put a few gals in my 70 mach1... filled the rest of the tank with high test.. it ran but smoked and stank till I burned it off.. no damage
It would really clean it out stop running then change it fuel start with fluid then drive it fast to blast out all the residual 02-sensor and-catalytic converter mite bite the dust but it got oil and kerosene in it a lubricant that does not ignite like gas
Green in gas OK. Gas in bro truck no bueno
Its like you are giving your car a heart failure
Oh man a lot of damage I want him to work on my car😂
Looking at these posts to see if my tool chest rates
Try it first before saying any misinformation.
Nothing will happen the Car will probably run more efficiently with a higher caliber of fuel in the system.
if carby petrol engine, already hot = runnaway
What do you think about Nissan????
........the mf's have 30-50k tool boxes and dont know the answer to this simple question. One of them gave an acceptable answer of "it better than the other way around, and flush it". The one guy "a LOT of damage"...... tha fuq? Ask what about gas in a diesel, what do you for sure have to replace? Or def in a diesel tank, which happens more than you think.
But who's right tho???
These guys are full of shit and although obviously its not the best idea on a simple engine itl run like crap and smoke alot. On new efi stuff the cat might get clogged but your not hurting it in one tank and it will actually run fairly normal but still smoke alot. Iv actually done this a few times for fun and even been in the motors in a few occasions just to see and the logic tracks diesel is lubricant so not much of an big issue putting extra lube in but on a diesel putting gas in is a big deal because it wont lubricate the injection pump and once its grinding itself the metal ruins everything down stream from that. But diesel in a gas engine isnt a huge deal just drain what you can out and fill with gas it'll clean itself out on a good hr drive with some spirited parts and hopefully some hyw time so the cat gets hot and cleans itself.
If it's not too much to ask.., could you please get me Alexa's number??
I worked at a car auction, and someone left one of the yard push trucks running after sale day and it sat there all weekend until it ran out of gas. Come Monday, the yard crew didn't know and filled it with gas. It blew injectors apart when they tried starting it.

A normal car for me is a diesel car.
My diesel car didn't start today so I had to take my smaller gasoline car
