  • Can you buy a national football team? This is exactly what Qatar tried to do in the early 2000's. Ultimately, the move was blocked by FIFA.
Changing the eligibility laws forever. But just a few years later they had still managed to build a solid national football team made up of naturalised talent. So how did they do it?
When it comes to football, many nations use their wealth to ultimately decide their footballing future. In this video we'll look at Qatar's journey with football, the Aspire Football project and its 'mission passport' system.
Saudi Arabia has also spent billions on earning immediate footballing relevance. In the meantime, Iceland has used their wealth to build a sustainable footballing future by nurturing the existing love of the game - accumulating in its successful EURO 2016 campaign.
This is a video about international football, player recruitment, Football in Qatar, Football in Saudi Arabia, FIFA World Cup, UEFA EURO, FIFA Eligibility Laws, Aspire Football Academy, Aspire Football Dream Project, Aspire Zone Qatar, Iceland National Football Team, football as a business and international football.

Hello I’m a Qatari and everything you said was true. One of the reason there’s not many blood Qatari footballers is because Qatari families would not let their children become one. Qatari families want there children to get prestigious jobs. You will never find Qataris working at cashiers or construction sites it’s not even allowed by law.

The Indian match was all on the ref not Qatar. Qatar already qualified to the next round. Jordan match wasn’t paid either all the penalties were correct just watch the match and look closely in different angles.

After this video, now I don’t feel bad when I saw Qatar loose and be an embarrassment with the 22 WC

On the topic of national teams, you should do one with the rise of Indonesia & it’s Football Chairman Erick Tohir. From the dutch born indonesian blood that was naturalized & how Erick’s business (Intermilan,DC United, Oxford United, Como FC (Other Indonesian owner) to it’s close ties to Gianni Infantino (FIFA) to bring more money in from the South East Asian Market.

It's a fascinating story. I had an entire section on Indonesia in my video about the Curacao National Team (Why This Tiny Nation's World Cup Dream Dream Is Within Reach) but had to remove it because the video was getting way too long. It might be worth making a stand alone video about it! Thanks for watching an commenting. I really appreciate it. 🙌

Hey SAMU, Thoughts on the future of AUS and NZ football and Auckland FC

Hey Joel, thanks for watching! I don't think I can fit all my thoughts on the future of AUS/NZ football into one comment but if I had to sum it up it would be that the future is bright. I think we're still waiting for it to grab the time it deserves in the headlights but it will get there. And I'm super excited for Auckland FC - I'll be at the first home game and I like the signings/direction the club has been taking. I've seen them train a couple times and with big Bill in charge they could be a surprising shout for a play off finish this season.
