I've seen it done. It works. It isn't my favorite look but it's not too bad. I think it just depends on your preference, but if crossbody style is easiest for you it's definitely doable!
They are holding up astoundingly well! I beat them up and they are in great shape. I still use them daily. I am also still using the jetsetter bag for my makeup.

I actually haven't minded at all. I use the back slip pocket that's against my back for the quick grab things, like my phone, my keys, etc. So it ends up making me feel more secure since those items are harder to access for someone behind me. I would think about the things you're used to sticking in those pockets and whether or not those things would be easily stashed into the back pocket. I do plan to get the full sized version though when my new baby comes and that one does have the side pockets along with the back pocket. I hope that helps.
