Books, to save you typing: 1. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Essay on the true art of playing keyboard instruments 2. Johann Joachim Quantz, On Playing the Flute 3. Jean Claude Veilhan, The rules of musical interpretation in the baroque era 4. Paul Badura-Skoda, Interpreting Bach at the Keyboard Jean Claude Veilhan is born in 1940 and Paul Badura-Skoda is born in 1927. So their books are compilations from various sources / their own research of baroque era.
"Not too many added basses and without changing the melody line at all" this is also my preferred way to hear bach arranged for guitar. Some bass notes really add to the harmony and make beautiful use of the capabilities of the guitar. However, the majority of players add far too many, as if they were adding unnecessary outlines to the images in an impressionist painting
Man thanks so much for this, I had no idea Bach went to jail too, just makes him that much more of a legend... Great lesson very well explained, love the history too, the eternal Bach lives on!
