- The Australian War Memorial is “not a blank canvas for the Greens’ extreme politics”, says Shadow Home Affairs and Cyber Security Minister James Paterson.
His remarks come after memorial sites on Canberra’s Anzac Parade were vandalised with comments relating to the ongoing war in Gaza.
Following the incident, the shadow minister called out the Greens for refusing to support Senator Jacqui Lambie’s motion to condemn the act of vandalism.
“They should not be defending criminal vandalism of one of the most sacred institutions in Australia,” Mr Paterson told Sky News Australia.
“There really need to be very serious criminal penalties for the people responsible for this; otherwise, we are going to see a lot more of it.”
If they dont respect our veterans send them away.

Over the vandalism, I'm also noticing the former Melbourne GPO is being not only tagged but also the relatively soft sand stone is being vandalised, the building construction commenced 1860, it is on the heritage registers which of course means nothing to the miscreants.

There is no place for this behaviour in Australia, any immigrant should be deported immediately, no appeal, duel citizen could get a choice of deportation or jail, no appeal and an Australian citizen jail for 12 months to 5 years for 1st offence with parole and ongoing citizenship training after release. 2nd offence, life. It’s on par with cemetery desiccation but to our veterans and diggers desiccation of the memories and honours by these acts on the memorials I imagine it would be above cemetery attack.

The War Memorial represents the heroic and selfless Australians who gave up their lives for the freedoms and peaceful life we are now enjoying. This is more than serious. This is a profound insult to all decent and lawful Australians. This is criminal. Those supporers of terrorists have no place in peaceful Australia. They need to go.
Maybe corporal punishment needs to be temporarily reinstated for the perpetrators?

Australian Crime Memorials are obscene and have no place in modern Australia, let alone my taxes paying for them. Boer War, approximately 40,000 Boer homesteads razed and 2x independent Republics destroyed, tens of thousands killed by neglect in British concentration camps, women, children and babies, all so London Bankers could seize Boer diamonds and Gold mines, and by our participation were accessories to these crimes.
