Vader was not completely loyal to Sidious. He wanted to train Luke so that they could overthrow Sidious together. I wish this was expressed in the video.

One thing I enjoy so much about these videos is not just how the Sith respect Luke for trying to improve the Jedi, but the opposite for Anakin/Vader. Unlike Luke, the Sith of old and recent don't respect Anakin/Vader. They don't see a man who has any of their ambitions or see him as true Sith. They see a little boy who's afraid, wields power he doesn't come close to understanding, and nothing more than just a slave on the galaxy's shortest leash with Palpatine holding it.
I always thought Vader knew in the back of his mind though he’d never admit it out loud, that he knew Palpatine would replace him the first chance he got and the moment he showed true weakness. Even from day one Palps was sending assassins and other fallen Jedi after him in order to probe for weaknesses. It’s not that Vader didn’t know, but had merely resigned himself to his fate and he felt he deserved it for destroying everything he originally fought to protect. Especially in ROTJ where he tells Luke at first that it’s “too late for me.”

While powerful he was but a shadow of what his potential could've been and kept him only until a more powerful apprentice could be found be it Luke or even Galen in the EU he was always looking to trade up.
People don't talk enough about the parallel between Dooku vs Anakin and Vader vs Luke. Both times Sidious is sitting pretending to be powerless while his current apprentice fights against a young more powerful jedi. Both times his apprentice losses and he tries to convince the jedi to kill his apprentice and take their place. Main difference is that Anakin falls for it, but Luke doesn't
