Ronnie is one of the most unique bboys out there. He's mad fluid, with quick, constant, and clean transitions between all kinds of moves. Moves from footwork to power and back better than most bboys out there.

Had ronnie faced lilou with this intensity he might have won the whole competition. This and his match against junior were the two best performances by a bboy I've ever seen.
Ronnie's style kills not just because his moves are unique but because he can ladder everything he does n2 the next move and the puts a period on his sets. Born Has awesome rhythm and skills. But it can't stop that momentum. People love to see what born offers. The judges vote to see what Ronnie offers. Great Battle!
people say that he won only becuase he is better NOW but seriously he wasn't really amazing until 2006. he was good in 2005 no doubt but 2006 was really the year he started to shine.
you see born's first set a lot but i must say i am always fascinated by how he connects everything into his spinning sidechair
First round, save his moves for later rounds, as well as his energy. It's a gamble, either go all out and assure yourself of going to the next round or hold back so you can actually win the competition without getting tired or running out of moves.
Its the form and continuity not the acrobatics. It's still a dance to the beat contest and originality of moves. The first one of Born is good but notice the repetition of Born's moves. 0:41, 0:48, 1:24, 1:38, 2:16... He keeps on ending on the same hand stand. No variation.
Notice in 2:09 it's a gesture of Ronnie hitting him many times with a pistol, meaning Ronnie got him several times already. Ronnie has variations in his form and attack in hitting the beat.
ronnie rocks second favorite bboy besides wakeup hes my utimate favorite but anyways born did his thing too out there so respect to both for doing their thing

He came out of 1:20 and 2:15 cleanly?
At 2:15 his hand slipped and he fell onto his back. He recovered nicely but it's still a crash.
1:20 he clearly stumbled and crashed. You mean to say he landed like that on purpose after 1 rotation. Lmao.
Its because Born wasn't the disgusting beatkiller that he is now back then at 2005, and Ronnie being a more rounded BBoy and a veteran of BC One knows how to get the points.
@earthninja9065 The jackhammers are called Bornhammers if I'm right. I think he was the one who made them. Siiiick in my opinion. They're really easy and really fun to do. XD
I know who ken swift is too and he's a big legend. Swift rock was a legend from Bettle sqaud in germany. he got a lot of his moves from the 1st rock steady generation. Look him up. he's dope.

1) His signature german mills/tap mills to flag freeze. Crashed.
2) His one leg pull air chair, crashed a little after that.
Those arent the only reasons why he lost. Born used to be based off of hitting the main/repetitive beats to songs especially in 2005. Thats why he always kills The Mexican, Bboys Revenge, etc. But they didnt really play those types of songs.. Just my two cents, idc if anyone disagrees, if they do cool
its like a jackhammer but instead of jumping straight up... you pop back to your toes and tap your toes then pop backforward to your jackhammer position again.

That should always be the case.
But here's something Bboys should do to win a Judge's vote. They have to interest the judge, make the judge want to see more of them.
There's been battles where the lesser Bboy in terms of skill has defeated better Bboys because they're more interesting. Ducky who's known and judged Born for years, just isn't as impressed by Born because he knows what Born is capable of, his patterns, sets, etc.
And if a Judge isn't impressed they don't vote for you.
Ronnie and Born are both really really DOPE!!!! that set that born does at the begining when born spins and does a short air chair spin was originally a set done by swift rock a legendary bboy for germany. A lot of new skool bboys and bgirls need to get our history correct!!!!
born was defnitely hitting the beats better than ronnie, but ronnie's sets were crisp. born IS my favorite bboy, but i have to give it to ronnie on this one. i think if they battled today, it would be a very different show

You can say the same for Ronnie who constantly threads and grabs his foot. Born is known for his ability to "dance to the beat". And yes most of his freezes are done on the same hand, as with most bboys. Just like when most bboys use foot work they go in one direction most of the time. Just because you use the same hand does not mean there is no variation. Born has a LOT of variation he does many different spinning air chairs, he doesnt use the same one over and over. How is that no variation?

If anything he was messy and nervous. Hesitating on too many moves and going off beat a few too many times.
This was his first individual international event after all.
And to smoke someone you need the attitude and moves. Born lost the attitude as the battle went on and got too tired to show the moves.
i don't think born would kill Ronnie. in fact, Ronnie's moves have seemed to progress much more than Born's. Born is more effective in a team battle. He doesn't have a large enough repertoire to really win an event like this.

Yes he came out clean, but it's not so clean that we didn't notice it.
Born uses more then one sidechair spin in a few competitions. Project Soul Uk 05, Joe vs Born, or hell when he kills the Mexican.
A bunch of instances.
I know they have limited characters which is why I only respond to what's already written.
And yes I'm laughing because you're a Bboy who somehow called 2:15 not a crash. You've been to jams and hopefully battles. So you know what I mean.

Born's first step was really clean, but his 2nd and 3rd set were kind of average. Ronnie's 3 sets were consistently good.
no cause he looked so tired and he ran out of sets cause this was when he started turning to style mover instead of power

Actually watch the battle people, Born's a great bboy but Ronnie deserved the win. Ronnie was more creative and executed more difficult moves in the battle.
Maybe Born got excited that Dont sweat the technique came up so he pulled his best shit, then he wanted to pull out some nice ass shit until that guy stopped him =[

I think was a pretty close battle (personally think born won) would've liked to see Born go thru but i think nerves may have got to him a lil bit. Plus i think the music wasnt in his favour with born being a Beat rocker n all.

I have ta say I"m not hating or ANYUTHING but even if Born won I don't think he would've gotten so far in this because first of like other people're saying he didn't get hella good at beat hitting until later and secondly he showed all his best moves in this match. But yeah the next BC one he competes in he'll probably do hella good

he might have been straight power b4 but once he became straight up stylhead he stopped practicing power less than he used to....now his power isnt as good as it used to be!
if he gets his power back, then he'll be even more of threat than he is now!

I think in a contest, every attack should be unique. I know Born has many variations, but he ran out of time and made repetitions. Just like a diving contest, you don't repeat your dives. There must be variations. I have seen some freestyles in you tube and it's like " can you do these?" contest. I think Ronnie was bringing with him a full choreograph so every attack is different. It's not who can do the most difficult move or who can spin the most contest.
its just that he has many foundations and hes a beat killer.
To me Born excelled in his bottomrocks very much but his toprock left out as much style as his tumbling did so he didn't appear as complete as he may have been. I think if he would've articulated his standing footwork he'd have won.

Born lost because of two things.
1. He crashed in all his sets. This lost Storm's vote, who is beyond technical.
2. He used almost his entire arsenal from tap mill to chair flare. This lost Ducky's vote, who has judged Born in the past (actually sent him to finals). This vote was fair and impossible to be biased as they are crew mates via Project Soul and Floor Gangz.
This competition was by no way rigged.

I liked this battle, it was close. A good battle between two strong balanced bboys
that really is not how you should judge battle, first of all freestyle battles are diffrent, ronnie and born are diffrent types of bboys so you can not judge them on that type of level.
