Basically what he says is that he, as a German who married Beatrix in a difficult time, he's known what it's like to be a controversial choice of marriage, but that over the years the people have come to love him and vice versa. He also says he'll gladfully accept Máxima in the family and that's she's an awesome lady. :)
And then of course he's very sweet at the end with the kisses and everything :)

I love my Queen and King, Queen Beatrix whom I had met many times on St. Maarten was a warm and affectionate Woman as was Prince Klaus.I think Willem has done an excellent job in his new role.These people are Royalty of the Best Kind! I've never seen a ruling Royal Family be affectionate towards each other in public, let alone, on National Television (which I assume is where this interview has taken place) I think that they really loved each other and I feel very sorry for the loss of Prince Claus, which might have had his defects like any human being in the world, I don't really know, but what I do know, or I think I know, is that HRH Princess Beatrix (her current title) really loved him and suffered his death very much, as well as HM King Willem-Alexander.

he said that Maxima can speak Dutch very well. he couldn't speak Dutch so very well when he married Beatrix.
As a British person, can I just say how nice it is to see the Dutch queen being so natural, smiling and looking genuinely happy that her son is going to be married.
She seems far more in-touch than our emotionless robot Queen Elizabeth.
She is such a gem and is loved by most Dutch people, just like her son is.
She is, they all are not like our sour faced queen who can't crack a smile! Maxima left her country behind and her family weren't allowed at her wedding, her sister committed suicide not long ago, his brother died in a skiing accident a few years ago.

He did say. That when he get engaged with Beatrix they told him to learn dutch quick. And he also did tell Maxima. But she was so much better in the dutch language than him. He did wish he was yust as good as she is now

Dutch 🇳🇱 language is similar to 🇩🇪 language. They’re Germanic. In order to step royal family, anyone who’s getting married to them should get used to new culture, language and lifestyle. Queen Maxima especially learned the language so fast and integrated such lifestyle.

Dutch seems like a very difficult language to master...how long did it take for the Princess to learn to speak the language?
I believe they were dating for almost two years when their engagement and this interview took place. Im really impressed by the way she spoke dutch in this interview. Because it's not easy. It might have took her another 3-4 years to really get her dutch more fluent and she still makes some grammar mistakes until today. But I can understand. Our grammar sometimes really makes no sense, and it's quite hard to master a language fluently. Especially when it's so different from your native language. Eitherway im very proud of my queen and she is so very loved in our country for being a genuine, hard working, warm, emphatic, wise and sober person. She lights up every room she walks in with her bright smile and definitely helps representing our country to it's best. So God bless Willem-Alexander and Maxima.
